Shared the APA keynote stage with @drnataliews.bsky.social which is something I never imagined doing, but it turned out to be unforgettable! We told the story of how a White ally’s Facebook rant led us to see how therapy can mobilize anti-racism action which inspired our book, Beyond Fragility.

The best Mother’s Day gift ever 💐? Officially winding down my pumping journey!!! While my nursing end date is still TBD, I am so happy to finally be on the other side of this journey. Shout out to all the academic mamas out there doing this part time job on top of a full time one 💪!
A colorful infographic titled “Yara’s Pumping Recap” displays breast milk pumping statistics. In bold navy text, it shows “14,016 ounces pumped.” Below that, “52,074 minutes of pumping” is written in teal, and “949 pumping sessions” appears in red. A line graph labeled “Monthly Breast Milk Pumping Volume (oz)” shows a rising trend from May 2024 to a peak in August and September, followed by a gradual decline through May 2025. The background includes playful, abstract patterns in blue, orange, and teal with a faux paper and tape design element.

Business idea: a website that automatically aggregates manuscript reviews across all journals into an overarching “to do” list. As soon as you press “accept,” the review gets populated in your list. Does this already exist?! I manually track with a spreadsheet but would be nice to automate!

Check out this notice that just appeared on many HHS pages...
CDC.gov page with a notice that reads "Per a court order, HHS is required to restore this website as of 11:59PM ET, February 11, 2025. Any information on this page promoting gender ideology is extremely inaccurate and disconnected from the immutable biological reality that there are two sexes, male and female. The Trump Administration rejects gender ideology and condemns the harms it causes to children, by promoting their chemical and surgical mutilation, and to women, by depriving them of their dignity, safety, well-being, and opportunities. This page does not reflect biological reality and therefore the Administration and this Department rejects it."

Politicians who moralise about “protecting kids” from “wokeness” are usually the most dangerous to them. They obsess about children “being corrupted” while pursuing policies to deny health care to trans kids, end public services for poor kids, and deport refugee kids. It’s sickeningly disingenuous.
