🎶 What’s your musical ick? 🎶 It could be a genre, a lyrical theme, a particular instrument maybe? I feel like we all have one. Air horn samples? Clumsy rhymes? Fade outs? Too much auto tune? What gets you desperately scrambling for the skip button? 🫣🎙️🥁🪇🎸🪗🪈🎷🤢🤮 #MusicIck #MusicChat #BlueskyMusic

Weird Guitar of the Day @weirdguita.rs · 10/09/2025

Instruments of Africa Lagos

I posted a Gibson Map guitar a while back that was shaped like the US, but what I didn't know at the time is that there's also a guitar shaped like the continent of Africa. Every guitar that Instruments of Africa makes is shaped like Africa, with the neck being bolted on around the Egypt/Libya area. This means that, instead of the thickest part of the body being at the end, it's right in the middle of the guitar. Every guitar has the same Les Paul-like setup (two humbuckers, two volumes, two tones, 3-way switch). You can choose to have a stop tailpiece or a Floyd Rose, but the weird part of that is the guitars have a locking nut no matter what bridge you pick. The headstock is a curved 6-in-line design similar to one I've seen on Music Man or Fernandes guitars.

Model names appear to refer to different finishes. The one in the picture is the Lagos model.

Go and listen to this, if you haven't already. Really great songs! Dangerously catchy! 🪝

Some days writing a new song feels like some kind of meticulous, spiritual archeology. Other days (like this one) a song just crashes in like the SWAT team! Is your creative process more like pulling teeth, or being hit by lightning? 🦷 🌩️ 🤔 #rehearsal #songwriter #newmusic
