Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 22/10/2025I think I'm with you for writing, it often feels like the most purely creative part of the process and no two songs seem to come together in exactly the same way. Least favorite is definitely promo! It always feels like a bit of a compromise. I wish I could be more creative with it! 110
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 11/10/2025Thank you! Well the songs on your Spotify sound amazing too! 🙏🏿 120
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 05/10/2025Ahhh yes, good one! Nothing says 'made in 2007' like a pitch shifted soul sample! On reflection this is one of Kanye West's more forgivable transgressions! 🤭 020
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 04/10/2025Ahhh yes! These are good ones! I know what you mean, I think they are trying to go for sincerity but it just comes across like a hernia 🤣 010
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 04/10/2025🎶 What’s your musical ick? 🎶 It could be a genre, a lyrical theme, a particular instrument maybe? I feel like we all have one. Air horn samples? Clumsy rhymes? Fade outs? Too much auto tune? What gets you desperately scrambling for the skip button? 🫣🎙️🥁🪇🎸🪗🪈🎷🤢🤮 #MusicIck #MusicChat #BlueskyMusic 351
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Thank you so much! 🙏🏿 We wrote this about a year ago but it's one of those projects that we just can't seem to finish! It's great to receive some encouragement though, really appreciate it. We're determined to get it released now! 000
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Honestly, we don't have much to compare it to but London is amazing for live music! There's so many great venues here, you will love it! Something for everyone! 110

Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 23/09/2025Beautiful! How do the tone controls work? That's a lot of knobs for one pickup! 150
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 23/09/2025Ahh you are too kind! That is such a great motivator to get some songs finished and released. You have made our day! 110
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 23/09/2025Thank you! That is definitely the incentive we need to get it finished! Ah yes, the ngoni! It's a little like a kora, but a bit less complicated. The sound is somewhere between an acoustic guitar and a harp. I'm still learning the basics! 000
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 22/09/2025Another work in progress! Do you ever wonder if your best music is sitting in that big, dusty folder of half-finished songs? #songwriting #workinprogress #unfinishedsongs #blueskyartists 4173

Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 14/09/2025Yeah I hear that. A lot of the other platforms are just a race to the bottom! 020
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 14/09/2025Good shout! Yes, there is something gross about trying to appease an algorithm. I feel like promotion is probably the easiest way for an artist to burn out. 120
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 14/09/2025Yeah, I can relate. We're told that it's easier to build a fan base now than ever before, but it's not so straightforward in practice. Keep doing what you are doing though, you have really great quality work. At some point it will speak for itself! 010
Xybird @xybird.bsky.social · 14/09/2025Yes, I think writing definitely feels like the most exciting and significant part of the process. It's difficult to maintain the excitement when you are promoting. By the time you get to promoting, motivation shifts from joy to fear of indifference. 120
