Today is our first full day back in Indy after being gone for 15 days (yeah 15 days! the longest I've ever taken off work for a vacation in my life) to travel through Colorado all the way to Seattle, WA. I am so happy to be engaged to my incredible parnter Kath and that we had the best time on this trip together. There was so much to do and experience out on the west coast and even though we did a lot, it still feels like there was so much to do. Both of these towns had so much culture and nature and liveliness to them. I think Seattle has personally ruined my expectations of what public transit should be capable of. We were able to take a city bus to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go with ease, and we were able to after dropping off our rental car take a light rail from the airport to Pike Place Market, explore for a while, then hop on a bus back to our accommodations. What would have been a $100+ Uber through traffic was such a breeze and the light rail reminded me so much of taking the South Shore line I grew up with into Chicago for the day.
