📷️ PNW Trip!!
Today is our first full day back in Indy after being gone for 15 days (yeah 15 days! the longest I've ever taken off work for a vacation in my life) to travel through Colorado all the way to Seattle, WA. A lot happened such as GETTING ENGAGED and GETTING ENGAGED!!!
A photo from our photoshoot with Jodhi.
Another professional photo! One of my favorites of us.
Incredible props again to our photographer Jodhi who still was down with doing the photoshoot on the only day of our trip where it rained! I am so happy to be engaged to my incredible parnter Kath and that we had the best time on this trip together.
There was so much to do and experience out on the west coast and even though we did a lot, it still feels like there was so much to do. Some of my favorite places that we went to were:
* Bull & Bush Brewery in Glendale, CO
* Any Swig in Salt Lake City, UT
* Trendy's in Redding, CA
* Redwoods National Park in CA
* Los Bagels in Arcata, CA
* Hotel Arcata in Arcata, CA
* Farmers Union Coffee Roasters in Eugene, OR
* Eugene Saturday Market in Eugene, OR
* Pre's Rock in Eugene, OR
* Hendricks Park in Eugene, OR
* Tillamook Creamery in Tillamook, OR
* Dolly Olive in Portland, OR
* Powell's Books in Portland, OR
* Frankie & Jo's in Seattle, WA
* Pacific Inn Pub in Seattle, WA
* Geraldine's Counter in Seattle, WA
* Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA
* Public Transit as a whole in Seattle, WA
I really enjoyed the sections in Eugene and Seattle the most. Both of these towns had so much culture and nature and liveliness to them. I think Seattle has personally ruined my expectations of what public transit should be capable of. We were able to take a city bus to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go with ease, and we were able to after dropping off our rental car take a light rail from the airport to Pike Place Market, explore for a while, then hop on a bus back to our accommodations. What would have been a $100+ Uber through traffic was such a breeze and the light rail reminded me so much of taking the South Shore line I grew up with into Chicago for the day.
Below I'm just going to dump a bunch of photos and write about them in the captions!
A herd of bison at a state park/rest top on the border of Wyoming and Utah. Some of the redwoods in Eureka, CA's Sequoia Park.
Kath standing next to a massive redwood in Redwood National Park. Another big tree in the Redwoods.
Pre's Rock in Eugene, OR.
Hendricks Park in Eugene, OR. Found a lot of birds for Merlin here!
A shot of Eugene, OR through the trees at Skinner Butte Park.
A shot of the beach at Oceanside, OR where I proposed to Kath.
Someone found a statue of Lenin and brought it over here and eventually displayed here on a street corner in Seattle, WA. A window cleaner with a very unfortuante job of scrapping old gum off a window at the Gum Wall at Pike Place Market.
Nasty Gum Wall I don't like how its dripping off the pipes.
The sign for Pike Place Market!
I can't stress how fun of a trip this was and how lucky I am to have been able to take it with my now fiancé Kath.
