Livestreaming an execution of a paraplegic man. So inhumane

Strange. Also - thanks!!

Media making up stuff and pretending I said it, just to add me as a cautionary note instead of focusing on other writers' good news. Rinse and repeat. (Guardian, this time)

one day, Palestinian people will be lauded for their steadfast resistance against a heavily-armed occupying force. For surviving a brutal genocide. For reminding the world what humanity means. Lest we forget every child & adult killed by the state of Israel. Free Palestine, from the river to the sea

For three years, we've witnessed a live-streamed genocide of Palestinian people. Meanwhile, governments ban protest slogans and criticism of the state of Israel - instead of doing anything to stop the oppression, apartheid, torture, mass violence & anti-Arab racism. Zionism is a racist ideology

They're starting early this time. 6 months away from Adelaide Writers Week, bad faith lobbyists and froth mouthed media are calling for Randa Abdel-Fattah to be uninvited. Ummm. Did they not see how writers stood with her last time? And we'll do it again ...

All writing deadlines met, computer is asleep. I can finally get back to working on the manuscript of my next next book ... after my computer and brain have had a few days R&R. And Vit D for a little treat

Commissioned artwork by Kerry Klimm/FlashBlak. If you've not checked out her website, do so. She's the Queen of recycled material big Auntie earrings, and other artwork

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

You'd think so, but it's not good author etiquette

010

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

They should know me well enough - I can never keep (good) secrets

000

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

The etiquette is to wait for the publisher. Unless ... people just happen to come across the listing by accident 🤭

110

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Anyway. Kerry Klimm created stunning original artwork for my cover. And Jenna Lee is a talented cover designer. Two creative First Nations artists have gifted me with an amazing front cover for my novel

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Moral Dilemma: I'm really keen to show you my novel's beautiful cover, but publisher hasn't done official cover reveal. Book is now listed on their website, with cover. And pre-sales appear active. This is like knowing where the Christmas presents are hidden, but not being able to tell anyone

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Thanks. It's from last year, but I didn't notice anyone engaging, until now. Not seen that handle before, wonder who he is? And that's a super long blog post. Not sure I've enough time left on earth to get through all that 😆

What substack is this from? I'm currently writing something, and this could be useful

100

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

So true. And both versions of this trope have ample shady characters

010

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Sorry. No shade on oz crime writers. I'm avoiding going through proofs of my next novel. Definitely not crime, although there are some small towns

030

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Come on. Mix it up with an alien abduction, or something. Break that mould

240

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

According to oz lit, every small rural town has so many shady types and cover ups, that only a divorced/disgraced cop reluctantly returning home can solve cold cases - in between confronting their own secrets

260

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Specifically, in crime novels. (Not that I read those. I just notice patterns in marketing)

140

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Do all small towns in Australia have big secrets, or is that just Oz Lit making shit up?

Magabala is deeply saddened at the passing of beloved Tasmanian Elder Aunty Patsy Cameron AO. She was the author of children’s picture books ‘Sea Country’, ‘Sky Country’ and ‘In the Kelp Forest’, as well as ‘Trouwerner’, her memoir written with Martin Flanagan. You can read more on our website.

Trapped in editing hell, I've a decolonial dyslexic itch: in my next novel, I will butcher the English language - on purpose. That instead of who, lesser instead of further, semi colon instead of comma, lots of fragmented sentences etc. Take that, colonisers' language. And your boring punctuation!

Next up, ask Gr0k how keen Atilla the Huns' army would be to kill you

020

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

"I got a 86/100 rating on the kill list. Giggles." "Jealous. I only got 12." "Ask Gr0k how to increase your score." (Yes, people are really doing this. Meanwhile.... )

Ren Wyld @wyld.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Over at the other place, progressives are asking Grok to scan their accounts to determine their Lavender AI rating (software IDF uses to compile targets) and boasting about their scores. There's also videos of chickens being twirled. Don't ask

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him. His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time. I sued them for wrongful termination and won. So yes, I know that motherfucker.

I didn’t get names but other people interviewed on the radio stated clearly this is a lethal decision. Residents are there for renal treatment, respiratory illnesses, and safety from family violence. If people stay, police will use “move on orders” to lock them up, which is also life threatening.
