I also mopped the floor this morning. LET'S GO WEDNESDAY

They're nice trousers, wool, and buckles that adjust the waistband size. The zipper pull was corroded and seized, I cleaned and replaced it and added a new zipper stop.

Fixed trousers!! Black wool with pleats and two buckles that adjust the waistband size. I am showing off the new red zipper stop.

100

They were in my deep-stash and no one asked me to do this but hopefully my friend will want them now that they are fixed?

100

However, I did manage a heroic act before breakfast this morning that reminded me of that silly idea -- I fixed a zipper!!!

100

Like, waking up at 7 and immediately digging into a mend for 4 hours is technically before breakfast, but not in a healthy way

One of my silly ideas during the pandemic was a concept called Mending Before Breakfast, I think I only did one video about it because it quickly got out of control

100

I always feel weird posting things that are not mending related, but it's nice to just...use the internet like a human sometimes, ok? :):) this can all be filed under house-mending if you must.

We put patio stones under our picnic table and I moved the extra dirt to make a new fern garden... eventually, when I can divide the ferns hehe.

I love living in a neighbourhood where my neighbour's comment on the new pile of dirt in the corner of my lawn is "I love what you're doing here" 😂😂💘

Very disappointed in #KitCouncil's decision to exempt some neighbourhoods from sharing in growing up instead of out. www.therecord.com/news/council...

“But this plan reinforces an important principle — if we want a city where everyone is welcome, then every neighbourhood must share in accommodating growth.”

Overheard someone today talking about "Kitchener ruining itself" with this density proposal :(:(:(

Sesame Street is a (fictional) mixed housing and commercial neighbourhood that serves primarily newcomers and lower income residents. Exempting neighbourhoods from building slightly denser and more affordable housing (4-6 storeys) is the antithesis to #SesameStreet. www.therecord.com/news/council...

Text: Stretch acknowledged that not everyone in the Aud neighbourhood supports the three-storey limit.

But she said another resident’s description of the area as “a Sesame Street experience” captured its uniqueness.

“I thought that painted a really great picture of what it’s like … I’d like to see this area grow in a way that is able to put that culture first.”

Developments seeking taller buildings in these areas would require an official plan amendment.

Hey, this post is 2mo old and the original quoted post was deleted, but I've been curious about the PM-CD beef too because I don't really understand it 😅 and I feel invested as someone who, likewise, has learned a lot from CD's work over the years... What did he do bad 😭😭😭

Tango Luigi Official Music Video

Carsie Blanton isn't at the same level of fame as these major American singer songwriters people are (rightfully) piling on, but I need to see her ranking higher in these comments than 😵‍💫 Jesse Welles pleeeeease she's so good and sharp www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yMI...

Carsie Blanton is nowhere in these comments- Red Album 1&2 has so many solid protest tracks. She's (& her band) so smart and funny and insanely skilled. Tango Luigi came out pretty early yet it actually has something of substance to say... www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yMI...

"While Labour Day began in the US, when workers protested for an eight-hour workday in the 1880s, the US does not count May Day as a public holiday."

Right, someone told me about this months ago and I never followed through. Thanks! I am also subscribed to TL;WR. Always looking for local event hypers 🍻 there's sooooo much going on in the region!

The best part of it and what got me started on Linux is that you don't need a fancy upgraded machine (though it's nice to see the option - I now have a framework). I first had Ubuntu loaded onto my then-old c.2008 MacBook. I learned a lot AND got to extend the life of that machine significantly.

I'm not very tech savvy tbh, just surrounded by techies, but I've only used Ubuntu for the past 10+ years. One of said nerds recently got me switched to Fedora. Both are great and both have their strengths. Jooooin usssss 🌬️

Paris, no idea where you are located in Canada but see if you can find a local Linux User Group, Makerspace, or [do they still call it a] Hackerspace... always full of nerds who are happy to help enable a Linux switch.

"Dumbing down the public isn’t just the product of the tech industry. For decades, right-wing political movements have pushed to defund education, leading to declining literacy in the US, while thought-provoking literature and culture has been slowly replaced by entertainment driven by spectacle."
