okay going to bed but important development! because i can't really magnetize the backpack, im instead doing it like the dreadnought banners; the banner will be mounted on a 1.5mm brass rod that has a directional stop halfway down its length, and the backpack will have a deep slot for the rod

a WIP banner pole. i decided to make it very simple, no fancy stuff

Related to the previous post, It does feel like the prices of second-hand Warhammer has gone up quite a bit recently. Oldhammer stuff has always leaned expensive, but I’m sure it’s spiked upwards again, and it’s not just the old minis - plastics from just a few years ago are going for silly prices.

Ever since Miniscape did their Necron Raiders video, I’ve been thinking about putting together a small 2nd Edition Necron collection. Unfortunately, when I priced up what I’d want in that collection, it came to ~£400 for less than 20 models, so probably not happening in the short-term!

WIP Bad Moon Ork Boyz. Vallejo Xpress Color Ork Skin is basically magic if you’re trying to paint up units quickly.

It feels weird to have ostensibly ordered Armageddon for the Space Marines, having been a Marine collector for 30+ years, but to have the clearest vision about painting the Ork half of the box. I only really painted my first Orks at the start of this year!

In-between everything else today, I managed to spend a couple of hours preparing 10 Ork Boyz for paint (the most recent push-fit kit - I find it really enjoyable to work with). I’m going to try spend tomorrow painting them up, to give me a kick-start into the Armageddon box.
