This evening in 1956, at 7.55pm, BBC TV ran a trail for a drama they'd be showing the next day - a recording of the CBC play Flight into Danger. So it seems appropriate, exactly 70 years on, to trail that tomorrow I'll be putting out an extended edit of my audio doc on Flight - now 66 minutes long!

So tonight I went to an exhibition of the work of the late BBC Costume Designer, Joyce Hawkins, covering her 3 decade long career from 1958 to her retirement in 1988. She died in May this year, aged 95. Well done on all that, Joyce

I love Fox. Don’t get put off by the slightly jarring Chas and Dave musical interludes in first episode, because the series unfolds into something special and it’s graced by Derrick O’Connor giving one of the great unsung TV performances. He’s brilliant.
