Visual Design Prompt - reimagine and redesign the original 151 Pokemon exclusively using product names from the Ikea catalogue. This thought brought to you by me wife building furniture in the room and me pronouncing EKET like "Ekans!"

The Fixing is 4x Pathways and 4x Landscapes, so no land taps for 2 colors, and splashing is encouraged/relatively easy, but you still need to pay pretty close attention to your pips.

This is the list I've been working on. It's a semi-desert cube inspired by the FRA Full Art lands, which I adore. Each player receives "5 towers" - 1 of each FRA full-art basic, for a total of 15 basics. Each tower has a thematic identity and there are no gold cards. cubecobra.com/cube/list/0f...

Yeah I absolutely would bet that this is reflective of: 1) Fewer people focused on building vintage cube (and more more non-vintage cube) 2) people with vintage cubes feeling less like they need to update their cubes over time with each set release

You ever finally pull the trigger on buying cards for a #mtgcube and then start another cube and by the time the cards come you're already maybe more excited about the new cube?

A friend of mine once described the magic system of UA as either tricking the universe into believing you are an archetype (Avatars) or becoming a "reality singularity" in which your crazy goes so hard it warps the universe around you and I always found that a compelling way to articulate the system

I actually thought that MOM was the most "cube like" retail draft set I've ever played and really enjoyed that about it.

Kibler Google - my dad (79) called me today to ask about "how computers work" and if I had any ideas on how to learn that. Does anyone have any recommended, clean resources that they recommend - to read or watch - that explain it well to someone who is using a Jitterbug flip phone, link me below.

I did a thing! Scott asked me to write a bit about my full Obscura experience (spanning nearly a year!) from Cube Ideation all the way through making Top 8 at the event itself! This is long - since it's both design article and tournament report - but please let me know your thoughts!

A lot of the stuff I've been working on has been requiring like...very specific, weirder inventory that's not necessarily high-end, so places that I go for pretty/shiny/rare cardboard aren't the best fit for picking up my MP old border draft chaff.

120

Dan Schneider @worklifevalue.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

OK, assuming we see the PE "Leverage, Extract, Enshittify, Destroy" playbook here, who now has the easiest buylist functionality vs. inventory stuff? I've not been able to get out to events as much recently and I'd rather keep trading cardboard for cardboard.

And when they picked up, I said "Hi - my WIFE and I are running late and we'll be there to pick up our dog soon." and I had such a dumb smile on my face. I'd probably been saying it for a week or whatever on the honeymoon, but for some reason when it came up in "real life" it also felt special.

120

Dan Schneider @worklifevalue.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

I have a great memory of coming back from my honeymoon and driving to pick up our dog from the kennel. And we were running late, so I gave them a call to say we were still coming and on our way, and as the phone is ringing I get really excited, and start poking my wife...

Sadface. Just fired a sell order off. Guess it's time to burn through that credit before shit gets bad. Just buying 10-sets of every land I might want.
