While it may be accelerating, this has been going on since the 2008 recession when creative jobs such as graphic design, copy writer etc were largely replaced with communications generalists. Instead of a comms team it became a comms person (🙋‍♀️) and some freelancers.

There's a very famous sketch about an Alexa controlled elevator in Scotland and the vocal contortions folks need to use to get it to work. AI is forcing conformity on more than just the accents though. Structure and syntax must fit its parameters. It forces homogenization.
