Dr. Dorothy Hansine Andersen first identified & named cystic fibrosis in 1938. She was also at the forefront of developing diagnostic tests & treatment for CF. Her breakthrough shifted #pediatric medicine as kids w/CF were historically being misdiagnosed with celiac disease. #WomenInSTEM #MedSky
A colorized portrait of physician and pathologist Dr. Dorothy Hansine Andersen (1901–1963), renowned for first identifying and naming cystic fibrosis in 1938 and pioneering its early diagnostic tests. Posed from the waist up, Dr. Andersen sits facing forward in a relaxed position behind a desk or table, with the lower edge of the frame catching the top of her hand. She wears a crisp white laboratory coat over a faint pink-and-white vertically striped button-down blouse, fastened at the neck with a small metallic starburst brooch. Her expression is calm, direct, and serious, looking straight toward the camera with wise eyes and a subtle, closed-mouth hint of a smile. Her dark brown hair is parted just off center and pulled back neatly. The background features a soft, muted wash of tan and blue tones with the silhouette of a wooden chair visible on the left. The composition is clean and centered, projecting a professional, authoritative, yet approachable mood that emphasizes her legacy as a trailblazing figure in pediatric medicine.

It's very simple. If, as *that* Amnesty International report suggests, to ensure 'trans rights' women can't have ANY single-sex spaces and services, then trans rights, as they currently manifest, are deeply, misogynistic and, ultimately, damaging to women's lives. You wonder why there's pushback?!
