// current progress on alpheeya longfic: alphinaud calls eutrope a bitch is he in the right? probably not completely. do I care? no, he can be an asshole again, as a treat /aff

“Oh fuck off, you sound like my father now.”

The whole room swivelled around to face him, a veritable *maelstrom* of emotion immediately following suit, but Alphinaud was a Sharlayan, and merely stared back.

Specifically at the woman who’d just incurred his ire.

“Excuse me?” Eutrope scowled.

Alphinaud didn’t honour her with an immediate response, instead turning to his boyfriend next to him and asking,

“Eheeya, how long was Eutrope MIA?”

“Few years now, give or take,” Eheeya shrugged. “We’ve had a couple heavyweights retire in that time, and the Xtremes qualified for heavyweight like a year ago.”

“So it’s been a few years, your own sister’s now part of the Arcadion, and you never thought to actually *warn* her before now? Even just *vaguely?”*

“Hey, give her a break, Leveilleur, she was trying to find a—“

“If I’d warned my sister about what was going on, they would’ve *disappeared* me,” Eutrope growled, cutting off her younger sister with a *snap.* “Watch your fucking tongue before I actually take your soul, kid, this is *far* beyond anything you’ve—“

“This ‘kid’ has parlayed with politicians and spoiled brats *both,* actually.” Any normal person would look at his posture right now, leaned against the wall, and say he looked tense. The cold surety to Alphinaud’s tone made it clear he was that and ***worse.*** “This is right within my fucking workspace, thank you very much.”

He vaguely picked up Honey B. murmuring anxiously to Eheeya, but he paid them no mind, merely keeping Eutrope’s gaze as he continued,

“Most of the work I’ve been part of will mean nothing to you. That’s fine — you’re not exactly worth the energy right now. But where I *can* leverage is the fact that you thought that running away would keep your sisters safe.”

“You have a sister, don’t you?” his opponent snorted, more *horselike* than Hhetsarro. “You cannot tell me you wouldn’t have done the *same—“*

“Mayhap I would have. Mayhap I would not. But when you ran away, *horrifying potential consequences of staying or not,* you left your vulnerable sisters, *who’d already lost their parents,* ***alone.”***

T’was rare he went so truly *cold* anymore. If he let his *true* emotions erupt now, however, Eutrope wouldn’t be the only casualty to the fires of his wrath.

“I *do* understand your decision to an extent. I even *applaud* it. But the fact that you ***saw your sister join the Arcadion*** and didn’t even *try* to warn her from afar? Or, hells, *check in* at any point in general before immediately trying to take the first useful soul?”

He shuddered, and, standing to his full height, gave the woman his most disgusted look. *Vauthry* had deserved it less than she did in that moment.

“If I were Yaana, I’d be personally kicking your arse right now like my twin does to me. Absolutely revolting. And I didn’t even get into the fact that you left Retsarra behind too. I hope your bed is comfortable and we find an *actual* cure soon, because you have a *lot* to make up for, ***bitch.”***

They have their eyes closed and a serene expression, with their hair flowing into the wind. The background is a blue sky and, at the bottom, a sea of clouds permeates it.
