Out of the 67 martial arts movies I've seen this year (first watch), only 2 have been from Shaw Brothers... 2025: 25/158 2024: 29/84 2023: 14/56 2022: 9/45 I guess I could try watching some more... There are like 800 martial arts movies from the studio and I've seen about 80.

The problem with corporate takeovers in the arts is they immediately buy out, fire or squeeze out the people who care about the thing the most. Almost all the great comic book sites got bought out and many of those are gone now, or zombie-run. Which is not as fun as it sounds.

Watched They Will Kill You last night and it is a delightfully over the top horror action/comedy about a young woman trying to save her sister from a cult. It's also nice, and sadly rare, to see a woman of color be the lead in a movie like this.
