A tight suspense tale that takes a hard turn into a different type of story. I live it when a movie shifts gears like that. Watching the reporter pick at all the threads to figure out how they connect is a different kind of suspense and equally thrilling. 📽

For a bit, it's the standard '70s 'hysterical woman that nobody believes' horror melodrama. It's quickly obvious who is behind the mystery, but the intrigue is in how it's going to go off the rails. I found the finale interesting and curious, with a somewhat peculiar choice of ending point. 📽

The entire movie is just made of scenes to get reactions from the viewer, with no regard to story or plot logic. It tries so hard to be gross and dark, but they forgot to put life into the characters, so it might as well be happening to paper dolls. A flat dud. 📽

It opens with a salacious sequence involving a kind of sex cult that suggests a tone the film quickly turns away from. Instead, it's more of a Bond take, complete with a great villain lair and kung fu. Lazenby does a decent job with the fights, and Angela Mao is amazing– and what a finale! 📽
