This Ren'Py news really fucking sucks. We've had several forays into Ren'Py alternatives over the years, but we've found ourselves always weighing our relationship with the developers and community higher over engines that may serve our own interests better.

Well, fuck. Been worried about this potentiality for a while - holy shit, THREE different subscriptions? Any genAI is enough to be a deal breaker, but three LLM subscriptions is WILD. We'll find an alternative, as much as it sucks to lose all of the tools we've built thus far.

You should play hayseed knight. Its a beautiful, well written fantasy tale with a really fun world of cool animal folks and some deep commentary on racism and inequality. Also I play a fast talking shithead capitalist. Because of course I do.

It really can't be stated enough how the AI craze is rooted deeply in utter vitriolic disrespect for the working class. Like I've seen multiple cases of this tech being marketed directly on sticking it to us filthy poors who want things like "benefits" and "fair pay for our labor"

Just want to clarify something: Valve doesn't decide which games are in the steam sales or what the discount percentages are. Each developer individually picks a discount and opts in to a sale event. Valve isn't benevolently giving you cheap games, devs are.
