It's horrific and unforgiveable that Carney's going to wipe out coastal orcas, but orders of magnitude worse is what his oil uber alles policies mean to the entire global biosphere, billions of human lives, and millions of other species. It's the most immoral action any PM in history has ever done.

The government legislation affirms they know they’ll kill these orcas. Why else would they need ministerial abilities to ignore laws that prevent projects from driving a species to extinction/extirpation AND to ignore conditions put in place to protect these orcas from this specific port expansion?

My question about the disconnect between Carney’s rhetoric and his actual policies is this: If he stands by his agenda and thinks Canadians will accept what he’s doing, why does he feel the need to try to mislead us about the actual impacts of his policies?

In Calgary, a few years ago, Rainbow Elders (a 2SLGBTQ+ seniors group) were outside McDougall Centre protesting the anti-trans laws that were coming. Security called Calgary Police Service to remove this group of seniors, some of whom use mobility tools (walkers, canes) & shuffle when they walk.

Yes, many Canadians voted Carney in to avoid an even bigger disaster, yes, he's done a better job on the international stage, and yes, he’s a better person to have in charge of dealing with Donald, but that doesn't mean we can't voice our real concerns about what he's doing to Canada and Canadians:

I’ve been thinking along these lines for a while now, and given that Carney is enjoying a high degree of popularity (at the moment he has the highest approval rating* of any PM in Canadian history) I realize my stance will not be a popular one, but I think in the long run Carney may end up doing more harm than even Mr. IDU Stephen Harper did. Who, by the way, was the keynote speaker to end Carney’s investment summit, illustrating nicely how our current government is a two-headed Conservative party with one of them literally/liberally borrowing the Liberal name while enacting thoroughly Conservative policies.

And before anyone says for the millionth time ‘but at least he’s not Pierre Poilievre!’ — which conveniently gets him off the hook for his terrible ‘screw environmental regulations, potential species extinction, Indigenous rights, consultation, and ordinary Canadians as long as I can cater to the fossil-fuel industry, the unlimited $-gulping AI tech industry, anti-climate-change agenda, corporate lobbyists, airport privatization, and preventing worker strikes because I’m a neoliberal banker to the core (as the old saying goes, a banker can’t change their occupational spots) with zero interest in changing the current capitalist monster devouring the rest of us’ — it’s more than high time to start holding him to real account.
