Just found an email inviting me to become a tea correspondent for a new global org. They want TWO stories a week and *don't pay*. Fortunately the deadline has passed so instead I'm gonna build my own portfolio, thanks.

This is tickling something in my brain, thank you for bringing it up. I put a red flag on his name and forgot why. Was not happy with the Keanu-washing. Apparently didn't make as big of an impact as the accounts against Gaiman and lawsuits explain why.

I made the same mistake in column A, which I was annoyed ended up not being a mistake but me picking it too early... a few people doing this makes me think it's a creator oversight. Same. There's no new music at the shops, just ukulele covers of 90s and 00s songs. And my biggest exposure to new music is honestly support artists at live gigs. (I'm an FBi Radio supporter but don't tell anyone I don't listen anymore because I prefer silence.)

Is it bad I don't even know what song everyone is talking about?

My eldest niece turns 18 today. What even is time? At the weekend we were watching videos of when she was a baby/toddler, including the time I went to Japan when my brother lived there and I spent a great deal of it carrying a stroller up/down lots of stairs.

'Teardrop' – Massive Attack featuring Elizabeth Fraser Okay maybe there's something about this particular beat that gives me 'purgatory' vibes but there's also the ethereal vocals that make a case for a sort of unreal, insubstantial place.

NEW ZINE DROP: Underworld Posting tomorrow for the Hallozeen swap. I also made a playlist of 'underworld-coded' songs, to follow.

A6-sized zine. The cover is a faded image of Dante's 'Inferno' overlaid with a picture of the Egyptian god Osiris. The text reads: UNDER WORLD By Adeline Teoh

Found out Fishbowl changed its name to Thisbowl and only at that moment did I realise Fishbowl is a nod to the place where domestic fish might live and not just putting fish in a bowl to eat. I'm so oblivious to commercial puns. (I've never eaten fish at Fishbowl. I only get the beef or chicken.)

We need to have walk activities for people who walk at night!

Addy Teoh (张美鍊) @witmol.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

It was fine but I got tired because I hadn't slept enough the night before. It was actually two 30km walks over two days and the second day was harder because we'd slept in a tent on thin camping mattresses in between.

I once did a 30km charity walk and I was like, "this will be easy, I do that route all the time". When I got the schedule, we had to check in at 7am and I'm like "oh shit" because I usually start my walks at 10am.

Just got invited to a Jack Daniels event so I sent back my template spiel about not covering products. The PR agent then replied: "Would you like us to forward this over to the [client] team for you?" Like, I don't care, but why are they asking me?

000

Addy Teoh (张美鍊) @witmol.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

For one of my clients I write gift guides; it supplies the items to be covered and I write the copy. Easy. However, after the guides are published I get a rush of PR people spruiking their products for future gift guides and I have to tell them I don't cover products in my regular freelancing.

Very vague article. No quotes from bystanders nor airline, nor even from the NSW Police "statement". Why run this article? People die on flights more frequently than you think without it making the news.

FAAAAARK! A writers org I volunteer for requested any examples of rejection letters they could show their students, to basically say rejection is a part of the publishing process. In the search for this I found an unread email that had somehow been filtered/misfiled of an ACCEPTANCE I had missed.
