Broadly I’d agree, however I internalized his comments to be more about prov gov overreach due to the current scenario there, & yours more about how things have been portrayed here as the reason certain files aren’t being moved. It boils down to the same thing, so why did I view it differently?

I get that and you’re not wrong - it’s a tough job for sure. For regular voters, I think it’s just in our nature that we feel councillors and the mayor are the “closest” to us and we probably have unrealistic expectations. I still wonder if slightly different, consistent messaging might help.

Without prejudice, municipal leaders are elected to represent their constituents to other levels of government on behalf of the municipality. Just like any other politician, they are expected to produce results by negotiating. If that is happening & not working, the public should be told, & often.

We’re making them work as are others, including hydrogen fuel cell electric buses which have much better range than battery electric, specially in winter. Are there issues? Absolutely. But progress requires work. There are a lot of benefits of going electric, especially when diesel is >$2 litre
