To put this in perspective chestnut trees used to be dominant species in the United States. Billions of trees were killed by fungal blight and now fully grown America chestnuts are functionally extinct. There is no getting them back. Ever. All for a data center. www.gadgetreview.com/one-of-ameri...

One of America’s Last Chestnut Groves Is About to Be Destroyed for a Data Center

A rare 200-tree American chestnut grove in West Virginia may be cleared for data-center development, but the project denies the site is on its land.

The bill has been opened to feedback. Rather than dooming about the proposal, you can tell them exactly how you feel about the act here. ec.europa.eu/info/law/bet... With how much of an uphill battle Chat Control is having, you should never assume it's worthless to fight these draconian bills.

CSP being pressed to take even just /kissing/ off their asset store and FA being told that plus sized characters are considered adult should be a giant waving red flag to folks. Sex workers have /always/ been right to say these policies never stop with 1 type of content. They always wanna ban more.

Lmao??? 😭 Blacklisting specific ships?? That is wild just wow. I guess? If it's personal server they can do what they want? But man that is wild to me. I see a ship mentioned in a server I don't like I just. Don't engage with the convo lol.

Oh noooo. 😭 I definitely have my Do Not ships (we all do) but I just block/scroll on. That is a predicament. It's either you just put that server to @ mentions only and lurk or you quietly message your friend and be like 'thank you, but this may not be my cup of tea' then leave but man that sucks. 😔

When you say 'all erotica is bad, no exceptions' you inevitably end up down the rabbit hole of conservatism where LGBT folks, queer culture and anything deemed 'strange' sexually is renounced and eventually banned through legal means.

If folks do enjoy this iteration of OoT, ultimately, that is fine. Mostly I am disappointed with what Nintendo is doing, has been doing, for years if not the past decade or so. Truly Nintendo went to shit once Iwata passed and Reggie peaced out.

000

Winndy @winndy.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

But no. It's easiest to just pump out OoT again for all the money. This is Disney remake slop but slap Nintendo's name on it. Harsh, perhaps, but I say this as someone who has LOVED Zelda. OoT captured my imagination. MM is my ALL time fave (I hope they NEVER touch that game again).

100

Winndy @winndy.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

You know what Zelda game WOULD have justified a remake? The fucking original. You know, THE first one, THE one on the NES, the one that hasn't ever gotten some kind of new coat of paint ever. A remake of that game would basically BE a Zelda with how much they would HAVE to revision.

111

Winndy @winndy.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

(Also if this doesn't have Master Quest it is a scam.) I could be judging too early, that is possible. But we have less than two months to go. Right now I am seeing the barest QoL and not enough to justify this thing's existence.

100

Winndy @winndy.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

I could have perhaps given this remake a pass... if the 3DS one did not already exist. Sure, one could say that is hard for folks to obtain and play now, and playing the original is hard because of the graphics but. Block graphics =/= bad.

110

Winndy @winndy.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

As someone who's first Zelda game was the original OoT on the N64 and has grown up loving these games, I'll be honest, I... was not impressed with what I saw today. It's basically what I was afraid of; so far it is looking like a soulless 1 for 1 nostalgic cash grab.
