Despite the scale of the climate crisis and the government’s knowledge anyone amongst us thinks it’s odd the government are restricting roll out of renewables? Giving corporations total control and restricting who can develop renewable energy only slows the roll out in a crisis! It’s perverse really

It would be good if you actually challenged them then! The big open goal you refuse to challenge is the ban with onshore wind which favours corporations and essentially stops private citizens! Who do you know that can afford an EIA?

That is not over 30m! You’re avoiding details which makes you look stupid
000
Craig David @windyfarmer.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
If they have lifted the ban it won’t be difficult for you to find just 1 example of a wind turbine anywhere over 30m installed by a private citizen which requires an EIA
000
Craig David @windyfarmer.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
You just look at the headlines not the details! This is only for large corporations which there are 6 roughly. No private citizens are putting them up
000
Craig David @windyfarmer.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
Show me 1 wind turbine anywhere in the uk erected by a private citizen over 30m which requires an EIA. There are plenty of by big corporations but every private citizen in the UK is prevented allowing just 6 corporations complete energy dominance like water companies.

You’re not listening or reading! The Green Party have an open shot to challenge Labour over not lifting the onshore wind ban that Labour promised to lift but didn’t!
020
Craig David @windyfarmer.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
If the greens are serious about renewable energy such as wind they should challenge the onshore wind ban. It’s first class ammunition to use against labour as a broken pledge supporting corporations and not private citizens.
000
Craig David @windyfarmer.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
But you don’t hold labour to account when there are obvious manifesto pledge failures. Onshore wind, and renewable energy should be high on your agenda and Labour haven’t lifted the ban for private citizens and you know this, but do nothing?

The Uk is unable to set a road map as there is a ban on private citizens from installing onshore wind. Setting a road map might highlight to the CMA just how unfair it is giving the big 6 energy companies no competition.

It’s not like there small either 💁🏼 3mw wind turbine is a significant output. The large energy companies don’t want lots of competition from private citizens who can sell energy at a third of price because they have no share holders to pay expensive ceo salaries or land owners to placate.

OK, yes that is a bit shit. Sounds a bit like they don't want to battle NIMBYs for small scale systems. I guess the thing about the grid is that, by definition, there's not massive local demand, but, as you say, there are solutions to that I think wind farms are beautiful in every way

Here's Rupert Lowe MP's payments from X Corp over the past year. This man is making serious cash from Musk's platform. Payments surged over the summer, during UK 'unrest', and when Musk was frantically re-sharing Lowe's posts... Bleak, lucrative work if you can get it.
Line chart plotting 21 payments from X Corp to Rupert Lowe MP, as declared in the Register of Members' Financial Interests. The x-axis runs from 3 September 2025 to 16 September 2026; the y-axis shows the value of each fortnightly payment in pounds, from zero to £12,000.

Payments run between roughly £1,100 and £2,200 through late 2025, rise gradually through spring 2026 to around £3,000–£3,800, then jump sharply to £11,724.97 on 10 June 2026 and £10,265.50 in July. From there they fall in five consecutive steps — £4,412.76, £3,126.35, £2,885.36, £2,542.04 — to £2,413.89 on 16 September 2026, a fall of 79% from the June peak.

Two things worth carrying with the graphic whichever version you use.

The July point is marked with an asterisk because the register gives its received date as 7 August 2026 while recording it as registered on 15 July. Plotted it at the likelier 7 July.

You need an EIA for anything over 30m which can cost hundreds of thousands which prevents most people starting the process. Some is the constraint on the grid but that can be circumvented by green hydrogen production or batteries.

Got a wind turbine 37m tall but banned from repowering! There are 1200 other farmers and small holders in an identical position! 3.6gw is not small beer but creates a lot of competition for the big 6 energy companies

Yet Miliband was at the forefront of banning private citizens from erecting onshore wind turbines despite labour claims! Jeopardising energy security for the country by intentionally frustrating the roll out of renewables by individuals!
