A former work colleague is now a Tory local councillor (not a common path, that, advertising creative to Tory wannabe MP) and he 'saw' the Kemi conference as a step-change. I mean, fuck knows what he's smoked to get him there, but it's evidently still working.

Absolutely a fair challenge - I think I just a touch depressed at the sheer professionalisation of the student experience. You know what - what I really miss/want more of is more invitations for people in industry to come in and speak. Not a careers advisor who knows an industry from the 1980s.

I think, on this gloaming filled morning, the thing i'm most lightly depressed about is the growing prevalence of students writing LinkedIn profiles as 1st or 2nd year undergraduates. ENJOY YOUR TIME. BE A STUDENT. LEARN AND DO NEW THINGS. WORK / LIFE IS LONG, STUDENT TIME IS SHORT.

I don’t think I’m ever going to get the appeal of pivoting to video for podcasts. I’ve been listening to podcasts for 20 years, and never once have I thought, my God, I need to SEE these people! I’m on a walk or doing the dishes, I don’t need video.
