“Paris has embarked on a grand transformation, planting 155k trees, adding hundreds of kms of bike lanes, pedestrianising 300 school streets and banning cars from the banks of the Seine. Parking has been turned into green space…Fewer parents fear their child being run over when they walk to school.”

have more thoughts on this but this is basically the aim of the conservative justices in WV v BPJ: to rule that the 14th amendment, due process clause, title 9 etc all apply to """biological sex""" and that therefore trans discrimination is legal because it applies equally to both """sexes"""

not optimistic about how the due process clause fares under recent trans jurisprudence. as a reminder, equal protection & due process challenges were the main substance of the ACLU's challenge to NC's 2016 bathroom ban. this will likely become clear after the ruling on Orr v. Trump is issued

wiley sharp @wiley.pink · 30/06/2026
this ruling seems to lay the groundwork for a trans bathroom ban, both in schools and in state-run public spaces. if title IX & the equal protection clause do not apply to trans people, there is seemingly little preventing the court from a ruling similar to what we saw in the UK earlier this year
