Marketing every new fantasy with a romantic element as romantasy does a disservice to readers and writers. Romance & fantasy have different expectations (no shade to either), so a romance in a fantasy setting is NOT THE SAME as a fantasy with romantic subplots. Everyone just ends up annoyed

It’s not helped that the RPhub discord has allowed misinformation to be shared with mods never stepping in (the big one being that AI can be used as an accessibility tool; I believe we have access to accessibility tools that do not poison the water of various marginalized communities)

It’s been an ongoing request for RPhub to be more transparent with their anti-AI rule. I think it’s been actual literal months of asking “hey is AI text also included”, with crickets. Friends have reported profiles with ChatGPT prompts left in to crickets.

I get that community moderation is overwhelming, but point-blank: your site should not have a community section if you cannot differentiate harassment from generalized negativity. Sweeping valid user opinion and discussion under the rug to pretend nothing bad ever happens sucks.

I think a lot of where you’ll see the frustration is people who want a shorthand to do collaborative storytelling with as many people as possible (roleplayers and fic writers being the two I see this in the most)
