No, they don’t care. They have said so to my face. Half of this country does care, but that half is completely oblivious to the apathy of the other half. Stop living with in bubbles and we might find a way out of this.

At least The Dot Bomb Crash left us with miles of fiber optic cable that could be put to good use. After the AI bubble crashes we will be left with excess computing capacity that has nowhere to go, data centers standing empty (that will probably be converted to ICE/CBP gulags), and broke investors.

In a world where Drexel University can close down the nation's oldest natural history museum just because they want to raid its endowment and develop the land, we have to ask if our corporatized universities can be trusted with museums or if museums should separate themselves as quickly as possible.

Something to think about is that when the unemployment rate fell below 4% in the late 1990s it was a genuinely shocking event - it hadn’t been below 5% at all during 1975-1996. And an extended period of it didn’t recur until the late 2010s Now it’s routine

By the time this merger ruins HBO, destroys WB, gets 5,000 people fired, moves production overseas, and guts the quality of the movies the new studio makes, most people will have forgotten how fast the AGs caved and how little they got in this deal. Writers will not.

AI can now detect, automate, and chain together exploits faster than any human hacker can. That is significant. Which means that the system vulnerabilities once considered not so low hanging fruit are actually very low hanging.
