Betere jeugdzorg en GGZ
Kinderen en volwassenen met mentale problemen worden vaak van
het kastje naar de muur gestuurd. 100.000 mensen staan op een
GGZ-wachtlijst. Ik zet me al jaren voor hen in, dat wil ik blijven
doen. Mensen met psychische problemen verdienen de beste hulp.
Iedereen doet ertoe
Mensen met een beperking kunnen vaak niet meedoen. Onderwijs,
werk en zelfs openbare ruimtes zijn vaak ontoegankelijk. Het leidt
tot uitsluiting en een enorme verspilling van talent. Juist voor hen,
en hun hulpverleners en mantelzorgers wil ik de stem blijven in Den
Haag.
Het deel over onderwijs en wetenschap paste niet meer. Maar ik vind de bezuinigingen absurd en blijf me daar ook tegen verzetten.

The Department of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in biophysics. The appointment is intended to be at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptional candidates at a higher level may also be considered. We seek outstanding candidates with a strong record in cellular and subcellular biophysics. Topics of particular interest include, but are not limited to, uncovering how key characteristics of living systems arise from the interplay between supramolecular cellular structures, how the emergent cellular circuitry defines goals and enables robust decision making, and how metabolic resources are allocated. This encompasses understanding of how information is learned, stored, transduced, and processed across subcellular structures. Loved how I got to clarify that the 5 principles in section 4 of the paper were nothing new. They came straight out of The Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity, that every scientists in The Netherlands already ought to know. All we did is apply them to AI. www.nwo.nl/en/netherlan...

A friend included this anti-acknowledgement section on her PhD thesis. She also added the proposition: “Systematic bullying and undermining of girls and women in STEM starts early on and is the reason why they do not stay in science and related fields.” Absurd we still need to go through this 🧪👩‍🔬

There have been people less than helpful in my journey here. I wanted to acknowledge those too, bc I know I am not unique in this experience.
No thank you to the physics study assoc that made me sing songs about how women couldn't study physics without sleeping with the professor, the day I stepped into university life. No thank you to the 5th year physics student that decided to assign me a stripper name within the first minute of meeting me in the physics coffee corner in my first year. No thank you to the technician that was responsible for onboarding me on the use of the cluster in my third year who raised his eyebrows and asked me if that meant I was some sort of computer girl. No thank you to the senior researcher that sent me utterly inappropriate texts after a conference, then proceeded to apologise months later by telling me they had not been meant for me anyway so no hard feelings remain hopefully And no thank you to him for attending every conference I've been to since. No thank you to the people who told me that it was surprising that I was doing a PhD since I was a girl. No thank you to the man who mistook me for a coffee lady at a conference, and after having to correct him two times that I did not work there, responded with you should consider it. No thank you to the researcher that asked me what I was wearing underneath my outfit during a conference. No thank you to the physicist who declared to a room full of other physicists that biologists don't know how to design an experiment. No thank you to the people who have called me scary instead of strong and intimidating instead of intelligent.
And finally, no thank you to the exec board of the TU Delft, whose knee-jerk reaction to being held up a mirror about the social safety at the university, was to sue the party holding up the mirror instead of looking at the problems they highlighted.
... You have made me feel like I do not belong in science & I cannot forgive you for that.

48 weeks ago I started my permanent NPS position as Yosemite's new Locksmith. y I apprenticed under the previous locksmith the 4 years before his retirement. He had a wonderful carrier of 23 years with NPS. He said, "This is a good job Nate, the park can't run without a locksmith, do your job well and your'll always have job."
Well now 3 weeks short of my probationary period l've been fired. I've had exemplary performance and am essential for park operations.
The people that fired me don't know who I am, or what I do.
They simply don't understand this park and how big and complex it is.

I need to immediately move out of housing, I have lost my career and I have NO PLAN. This was my dream! All of my eggs were in this basket and I planned to stay till retirement. I had an appointment to meet a realtor today, but canceled, everything has been flipped upside down. I'm scared I?????????????????????!!!!!!??????????????????] I was terminated at 1:15pm 2/14/2025 via email.
Yosemite National Park the size of Rhode Island and has more locks than a small city, and without a locksmith I'm deeply concerned for the safety and security of the park and people in it. This is not right!
