Just finished rewatching Madam Secretary -- my mum and sister's first time watching. I still love it so much 💜 Hopeful politics, with an amazing lead, and all around great cast and storytelling. Ends on a high note 👏

Three favourites from September: Outrageous Pokopia Finding Emily

It's so weird putting my fan on at the end of September, but it helped me get almost 8 hours sleep for the first time in days, so whatever works I guess 🥲

Rebecca Thomas @westerliee.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

When this wasn't POTG, I was confused, then it turns out it wasn't even my highlight from the game either 🙃 hence the weird recording

I haven't liked the new battlepass either, content or format. I'm just not having fun this season.

I was wondering why Overwatch felt like hell at the moment, and why I'm so demotivated, then realised I've won two of the last eleven matches I played. That's shockingly bad.

Despite major outrage from users when they initially rolled out age verification systems, Discord plans to make all accounts teen by default GLOBALLY & you have to scan your face or upload an ID to prove you aren't one. www.gadgetreview.com/discord-is-b...

Discord Is Bringing Back Age Verification for Millions of Users

Discord age verification now locks stage channels, DMs, and adult content behind four ID methods — each with different privacy trade-offs worth knowing.

Really hoping that September is better than August on so many levels.

That's fair :) I hope those potentially's and maybe's can shuffle off soon

I don't know why the POTG was a Soldier 76 randomly killing one person, and shooting at another, then dying, when the team did this:

Grateful this day is over and that, even though it did not go smoothly, Sarah is finally medicated All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed it works So it's time to zonk out, Anya style:

Arrived at the hospital and no one knows what's going on 🙃 Thankfully, the nurse says she's not sending Sarah away without the injection because we travelled so far, but... I don't know. It's bonkers how terrible the communication is and has been all the way through.

At the rate I'm going this month, it's going to be my two favourites from August rather than four 🥲 Need to watch some good films, stat!

Dolly did this too. We’re sad because these two stars helped a lot of people figure out who they were and feel seen too. Dolly said “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”

Tim Curry was like a living cartoon character, putting total commitment into every role he ever did no matter how absurd. Nigel Thornberry could have been just another dim-witted character but Tim Curry's performance elevates it to another level.

Someday And gosh, I hope that day is soon Someone will actually get my sister the help she needs And I will finally feel some relief But today, unfortunately, was not that day Today, I continued to wonder how anyone copes in this stupid, messed up world And now, I'm going to sleep

So, uh, the GP finally phoned and... Apparently Sarah has to get her first injection at the hospital before the GP can continue it. It's been eight weeks. EIGHT. How has no one said this SOONER?! I've reached a sublime state of stress and anger I'm not sure I've ever experienced before.

Me: I can't play Baldur's Gate 3 till 1am for the second night in a row, as I can't risk not getting enough sleep. *does it anyway* *doesn't get enough sleep*

BBC News really is just Reform's publicity arm right now. It's not in government, nor is it the opposition. But its cruel fantasy of a benefits policy gets prime billing leading every bulletin.

They CAN'T get in. I repeat, CAN'T. The suffering, and I imagine death toll, if they get in and do this will be unimaginable.

Rebecca Thomas @westerliee.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

One of the problems I can see with using the alert system for things like this is that people might turn it off so they don't have the bejeezus scared out of them every time the Government wants to tell people not to do dumb things.

I think maybe the UK government should have two different alert tones instead of them being the same loud screeching for both "don't use a disposable BBQ" and "SOMEONE IS LAUNCHING FUCKING NUKES"

PALS emailed again -- apparently the GP will have the letter electronically already, or in the next 20 mins. They'll get it in the post too, but probably next week now. I'm not going to feel fully relieved until the appointment is booked, but this is the best development so far.

010

Rebecca Thomas @westerliee.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Nine days later, PALS has chased up the Womens Services unit for the third time this morning, trying to get them to send the information needed to Sarah's GP. I had a meltdown yesterday about this and various things. I want to cry again this morning. It all truly beggars belief.

There was a thin layer of cloud here, in the end, so my pin hole camera didn't pick up the eclipse very well 🤷‍♀️ Shame. The last one happened when I was young enough not to remember too well, despite going to France to see it.

They didn't put permission for the GP to give the injections or the dose in the letter, but mercifully the GP are chasing this up this time 🙃
