I don't think some people on the Left quite understand *why* so many Jews react negatively to some of the language that is so commonly trotted out about Israel on the Left these days. Perhaps this (from the National Front's newspaper in the 1970s), will go some way towards helping you understand.
From the national Front's newspaper: "Support the Intifada. Campaign for Palestinian rights. Zionism is racism."

The Golden Lion sits within the grounds of Grade II* Listed Cannon Hill Park in Birmingham. The timber-framed former pub, once called the Star, dates from the 17th century and was originally built as a house. The building was in poor repair, disused, but a grant from Historic England has restored it

I welcome the decision to scrap plans to curb jury trials. Trial by jury is a fundamental safeguard in our justice system. Victims deserve timely justice, but weakening the right to a jury trial is not the answer. The Government must now focus on investing in our courts to bring down delays.

Yet its important you understand why as it doesn’t mean it’s bad to fix. In fact right now if you’re on the Price Cap (unless you’re on prepay) you should be able to get a cheap fix (do compare), pay less straight away and prevent the predicted price hikes.

Tell me about it - and that’s as someone who has been tasked with cranking that handle in several departments. It’s almost like the act of introducing regulation is quite onerous so it isn’t just done willy-nilly. Who’d a thunk it?

I work with people in construction, and the saying "rules are written in blood" is very real, both in my IT field and their more physical one. I've sat in meetings after accidents - one where someone could have died springs to mind - where the discussion was intense "how do we prevent this?"

Also worth remembering that quite a lot of 'red tape'/regulation is the result of something going badly wrong, resulting in a public and media outcry that "something must be done". Governments of all parties find it hard not to respond in such cases. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

The shadow chancellor, Andrew Griffith, will say the party intends to “streamline regulations” that protect nature and oblige developers to include affordable homes and community services such as GP surgeries, to speed up infrastructure and housebuilding.
