It kind of sucks that #4x3 changes the colors from what Hank thought they should be to whatever the most people are doing. If players are trying to get purple first and a majority are successful, it's now yellow? What the hell is the point of that?

Great Meadows, Concord, MA #bluesky #evening
A photo of the sky over trees and wetlands in the evening. The sky is shades of blue, purple, and pink. There are clouds wisping through the shot, and the moon is visible as a small white glittering spot.

Fluted bird's nest fungus, Cyathus striatus #fungus #sotiny
Two small ruffly cup fungi sit in a bed of wood chips, leaf debris, bright green moss, and other woodland floor debris. They are about 2 cm tall, 1 cm wide, and are light brown. The "egg" fruiting body of the left fungus can just been seen inside the top opening.

I found a weevil inside a seed pod of Baptisia tinctoria (yellow wild indigo) and wondered what kind of weevil it was. Just put it on iNat and what do you know? It's a Baptisia seed pod weevil (Trichapion rostrum). Makes sense. #bugsky #unbeweevilble
A tiny black weevil sits inside half of a seed pod. The seed pod is held between a thumb and forefinger, and is so small it is only about the size of 1/3 of a thumbnail.

Belle Isle Marsh, Boston #nature #landscape #bluesky
A wide shot of a marsh landscape. In the foreground there are banks of blooming yellow goldenrods and green grasses. The midground has organically shaped small ponds and bodies of water. There is a small tree on the right hand side that is reflected in the water. In the far distance there are green trees lining the horizon. Above the trees is a bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds. In the top left corner the corona of the sun is caught, with rays of light shining across the sky and clouds.

A buff colored tabby cat is perched on the back of an armchair. The cat is looking up and out a sunlit window. His whiskers are fully fluffed out and his eyes are wide as he tracks the birds flying by. There are curtains in a bold floral pattern gathered at the edge of the window and a framed poster on the wall behind the cat. The poster is Jada Fitch's Bog Life of the Northeast. The armchair is covered in a pale green and white gingham patterned blanket. The wall is a dark brown.

What to do if you find a baby bunny. Thanks @portmanteauface.bsky.social for the suggestion!
A six-panel comic titled "what to do if you find a wild baby bunny in North America." There's a drawing of a cute baby bunny on a patch of grass with some daisies, and it's saying "You found me. Hello."

A drawing of rabbit nests. The text says "Most North American rabbits don't burrow. The mom rabbit makes a nest on the ground." There's an image of a circle of dried grass against a green lawn, labeled "It's well-hidden under dry grass or leaves." Then there's an image of baby rabbits curled up in fur, labeled "Underneath, the young are in a fur-lined bowl". "Check your lawn before you mow!"

An image of a mom rabbit nursing her tiny young who are crawling out of the nest against green grass and daisies. Text says "If you find a nest and don't see the mom, don't worry. She only visits for a few minutes every day to nurse." The mom says "Dinner is served." Text at the bottom says "Leave the nest alone and be sure to keep dogs and cats away."

An image of the top of the nest against green grass with a tic tac toe pattern of dried grass on it. Text says "If you think the babies have been orphaned, do this test: Use sticks or long grass to make a Tic Tac Toe pattern on the nest. Come back after at least 18 hours. If the pattern hasn't been disturbed, contact a wildlife rehabilitator."

An image of a small baby bunny sitting on some green grass. Text says "A baby bun leaves the nest in 3-4 weeks. If you find a bun on its own that looks like this, ears stick up, open eyes, 4-5 inch (10-13 cm) long, hops well, furred, uninjured, then it's just fine. Don't kidnap it!"

A cute bunny is jumping over green grass, and another is sitting up and saying "Thank you for bunderstanding." Text says "If not, or if a bun was touched by a cat, contact a wildlife rehabilitator. These are just the bun basics. For more detailed advice, consult your local wildlife rescue!"

Sitting out in the garden, enjoying the first day out of the heat wave, and a goldfinch visited my feeder! In previous years they would come by the dozen, but for some reason this year I've only seen one or two a handful of times. Then a cicada started buzzing, first of the year. I love summer 🌞

What's up with the iNaturalist app? Some of these photos don't look quite right 🤨 @inaturalist.bsky.social I've tried closing it and reopening it, and refreshing my observations feed. All it does it change *which* wrong photo is connected.
A screenshot of my recent observations in the iNaturalist app. Some of the photos match the observations, but most of them do not. Examples: a photo of a skipper is listed as cutworms and dart moths, a photo of platterful mushrooms is listed as a common grackle.

A photo of a view of a pond from the edge of some woods. There are green trees and plants on the left and right edges of the view. The sky is bright blue and dotted with fluffy white clouds. The sky is reflected in the surface of the pond and water lily leaves are scattered around the pond. There are occasional clumps of plants growing out of the shallow water. There are tree covered hills on the far edge of the pond.
