I’m loving their seaweed paper. I am glad I nabbed number 13 when I did as the papers only went up yesterday and several more have already sold. (Low stock = each is unique so only one of each) wild-plant-paper-cic.square.site

I am very happy with this #CoffeeCup #HandmadePaper This batch has horse chestnut leaves and dead onion flowers in for strength. I can’t wait to turn it into notebook covers and get it on the Square Shop wild-plant-paper-cic.square.site

Which way round would you choose for adding a few words from a poem before mounting? It’s Gower seaweed embedded in handmade paper, created by Wild Plant Paper - a neurodivergent-led eco social enterprise started by my husband. (They’ve got 15 more for sale - was 18, but…)

This is why we don’t put single use coffee cups in paper or card recycling. (Top pile is the plastic lining; bottom is the outer.) But when boiled, the plastic is peeled off, and the remnants are pulped, pulled, and pressed, they become rather nice sheets of art paper.

Crumpled plastic at top. Crumpled torn card at bottom. Both piles are in a granite surface.

Sheet of coffee cup paper. Brown and speckled with darker and lighter parts from the printed bits and base.

This one will have as well. Autoethnographic work still requires closely argued literature and methodological sections as well as critique. In fact, (as you’ll know) methodological arguments are more academically challenging as they aren’t off-the-shelf in a way that trad research can be.

Three stages of papermaking at #GB26 with #WildPlantPaper 1. Collect materials on site and make pulps overnight 2. Pull sheets of paper and iron them dry, then get Make & Creaters to create thank you notes for volunteers 3. Fill car with Boughton/Greenbelt materials for papermaking back home

Whatever happens today in Clacton #Farage today loses. If he wins, the parliamentary inquiry restarts so he still loses. If Count Binface is elected, he loses. But the election result matters for Clacton, the rest of us and for democratic processes. Please vote & vote wisely. Bins matter.

I’m thoroughly enjoying just how much Nigel Farage’s millions of pounds in gifts “for his security” have left him feeling in such a state of insecurity.

This is where I miss Twitter. I had a lovely community there (well, three really) and I’ve not quite managed to get my head round BlueSky in the same way. I need some tips on how to help someone in Uganda to fundraise for course fees & then their NGO - #NotAScam!

These are More Than Notebooks, soon to be available from Wild Plant Paper (or via me). The black cotton paper covers used to be a cotton T-shirt. A bit like me, they could have been discarded when no longer fit for purpose - but have been repurposed rather beautifully.

The spines of 16 narrow notebooks. They are hand sewn, each with a different rainbow colour of embroidery thread.
The covers are dark and from hand-made papers.

Co = with, together, in partnership Production = producing something Shift context to any other form of production, eg film industry. I don’t think producer A would be impressed if they did all the work then producer B ran an eye over a finished film and was billed as a co-producer…

Side story: There actually was one Barbie in the Barbie Movie who I surprised myself by identifying with. I’ll let you guess which one that was. Clue: she didn’t behave or look like the others. And she lived on a hill.

Anyone who know me will I agree that I’m no Barbie. But I have no issues with Barbie being a very different woman to me. I don’t routinely use AAC (alternative, augmented communication). But I have no issues with Autistic Barbie being autistic differently to me.
