In September we say goodbye to many of the UK bumblebees 💔 🍂 Old queens and their nests will naturally come to an end as summer turns into autumn. 💤 New queens will mate with males, feed heavily on pollen and nectar to create fatty stores of energy, then hibernate until the following spring.

I have upgraded my sun reflector. Got a couple of these car sun shades cheap on eBay & they work really well blocking the heat coming through the window on my back door. They stay in place with the flap shut in the top of the door & a bit of string stops flapping should there actually be a breeze 😄

My heat reflector prototype is up. I bought v cheap foil & thought I had Spray Mount but didn’t & didn’t want to spend £11 on a new can for this. So if I had thicker foil & some glue I could’ve done a more robust job. Not sure how long this one will last but a good test to see if it helps. #heatwave
