It's fun browsing other team's subreddits for a similar reason. Every fanbase believes they always lose must-win games, and no lead is safe. Also former players always show up against them. It's a real overdose of confirmation bias when you start to notice it, when really hockey is just chaos.

I mentioned elsewhere that I do think coaches should try more things in the reg season so have at it, but if you didn’t really see Domi as a key contributor to 34’s nsane hot streak last spring (and, and I personally don’t), I can’t see Berube standing for defensive liability on his match up line.

These arguments would ring more true for me if the Marner/Domi and Marner/JT combos had actually been good at 5v5. Or if there was a full suggestion of lines that make sense. While I actually do think Marner is great at 5v5, his recent dominance has been special teams dominance.
