Trades like this remind me how much people overvalue 2nd round picks. Something like 20% of 2nd rounders end up scoring 100+ TOTAL points in the NHL. This isn't a video game where you hire the scout with the best stats who can find late round gems. Every pick outside the top ~10 is a plinko ball.

I LOVE Knies but Marchenko is the better player and we didn't give up anyone else of note to make the swap. I like this quite a lot. Our top 6 just got much faster and a right handed shot that can snipe as well as anyone, which will be especially useful on the powerplay.

Leafs seem to really value having a right shot on the RW and probably don't want Roslovic as their 1RW this season. Knies and Marchenko have put up similar numbers with Marchenko having better underlying stats but Knies will be MUCH cheaper when the new Marchenko contract kicks in.

It may just be recency bias but Babylon has solidly entered my top 10 and is making a push for top 5. "Pretty as a picture that you didn't post, looking at you like you're made of solid gold." is one of Taylor's most heartbreaking couplets, especially in the context of the closing verse twist.
