How is it legal to downgrade a person’s first class ticket? A friend of mine who is disabled paid for a first class ticket so that they would be able to survive a long flight. They have had an absolutely miserable experience with #PorterAirlinesCanada I am beyond disgusted. This should be illegal.

Spent HOURS of my life trying to compile gcc 16.2.0 from the release tarball (after trying to find the 16.2.1 tag to checkout on the repo and coming up with bupkiss) on Debian 13 (default gcc is 14.2.0), where the make command keeps failing in new and spectacular ways (don't even know what -fPIE is)

“Why am I like this” seems to be my catchphrase when it comes to crafting massive pull requests because I just can’t help but to fix things “while I’m in the neighbourhood” loooool LOOK, I KEEP MY COMMITS ATOMIC AND PRs FOCUSED MOST OF THE TIME. OK MAYBE LIKE 42% OF THE TIME. FUCK.

I just saw a TikTok video by a fellow #nature creator, and I looked into what this phenomenon is actually called: a “mock mirage #sunset”, colloquially it’s called a #hamburgersunset, caused by one or more temperature inversion layers in the atmosphere so sunlight is refracted at different rates!

I strenuously agree: it's cognitively taxing to build up a mental model of any system, to plot out all happy paths through the code and then make sure I've got robust error handling for the not-so-happy paths (which involves understanding the code well enough to devise tests for this error handling)
