Dear thunder and rain, thank you for coming after zine fest concluded. - yours truly, a concerned paper zine

Ground works and Tiny Town are great zine spots in Tucson. There's also a queer zine archive down there! I like Bisbee zine fest, Tucson zine Fest, and AZ Queer zine fest launching this year in Tucson too.

All done! Replaced toner and two waste disposal cartridges, cleared one paper jam, and printed 150 zines for PZF folks in 45 minutes. I love printing ziiiines!

Heya it depends on the printer you're using but a duplex printer would be best. Double-sided on the short edge :)

Every year, I give my partner a set of PZF tasks. This year, I said he'll need to sit and read oracle cards for people the entire fest - Something he's never done before. He looked me right in the eye & said "ofc whatever you need." 🤣 He's been doing zine fest with me for 10 years straight.

I hyper focused today and laid out 4 zines and the PZF program using InDesign and ran tests prints. I truly love doing batch layouts!

Librarians! Zine-Makers! This new Temporary Services zine (made with @doormouse12.bsky.social) is for you! We interviewed 4 public librarians that maintain zine collections and the result is a beautiful 44 page booklet. See and learn how they do it! $10.00 (or $3.00 PDF) from www.halfletterpress.com

From the front and back cover of the booklet:

Public Librarians Discuss Zine Collections

We asked librarians at four public libraries to talk about their library’s zine collection. What advice can they share with zine makers that want to get their work into a public library, or librarians that want to start a collection at their library? Was it hard to convince others that zines are a resource that the library should collect? What collecting models did they follow? How did they build the collection?

Interviewees:

Tim Devin / Somerville Public Library
(Somerville, MA)
Angi Brzycki & Ziba Pérez /
Los Angeles Public Library
(Los Angeles, CA)
Alicia Tate / Multnomah County Library
(Portland, OR)
Alina Josan / The Free Library of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA)

It's across industries, from senior supply chain managers, to tenured journalists, to marketing directors, radio hosts, etc. laying off the creative human brains that make our worlds run both structurally and artistically. All these people out of work. It's really scary.

041

Wasted Ink Zine Distro @wastedinkdistro.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

It's kind of wild to see but all my most creative, skilled, smart, and talented friends are all being laid off right now. All these businesses trimmed structure in 2020, never hired back, and now are replacing all their remaining jobs with AI. The amount of unemployment is staggering. 😬
