When private healthcare providers are struggling and consumers face soaring costs and service gaps, it signals a system that needs reimagining. Aus should establish a Private Health System Authority to oversee the private health sector so it delivers better for Australians #auspol #politas

JOINT STATEMENT FROM THE FOREIGN MINISTERS OF CANADA, DENMARK, FRANCE, GERMANY, ITALY, JAPAN, THE NETHERLANDS AND THE UK.
9 October 2026
We, the undersigned States Parties to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (IC), reaffirm our continued and unwavering support for the independence, impartiality, and integrity of the ICC.
As committed supporters of the ICC we regret and strongly disagree with the announcement of sanctions to be imposed upon the Court by the United States.
We note with appreciation the work undertaken by the Court to prepare for such measures so that the Court can continue to fulfil its mandate under the Rome Statute and we underline our unwavering support in enabling the Court in doing so.
Nevertheless, if put into effect, these sanctions will have a significant impact on the Court's work, its dedicated staff and their families. They work every day to bring those accused of the most serious international crimes to justice and to support their victims.
We remain both united in our support for the ICC and committed to engaging in constructive and inclusive dialogue with non-States
Parties as we prepare for the Assembly of States Parties in December 2026. We will continue to work together to support the Court's vital work, uphold the rules-based international system, and advance accountability.

The difference between AI and social media is that one was created by men who decline any responsibility for the damage it wreaks, and the other was created by men who decline any responsibility for the damage it wreaks. Hope that’s cleared it up.

Watch Celia Perkins dance around Shoebridge’s question on whether she’s “engaging" with new “strategic partner” KPMG—after the Big 4 firm was awarded a massive $16.8M contract on the Defence Estate Audit.🤔 Tries to pin it on Finance, waffles…then folds, “…yes”🙄 Pathetic.

Queensland Premier David Crisafulli's youth crime slogans do not appear to be working as a deterrent in Logan. 3 boys, one as young as 11, charged over an alleged assault on another boy. The accused have been released on bail. #qldpol

Last month the Senate embarrassed the Albanese Government by passing Greens co-sponsored legislation that puts human beings back in charge of care assessments. Labor should read the room, ditch the algorithm and put clinical decisions back in the hands of experts.

So many times I have voted Labour based on their integrity and support for working Australians. Difficult to imagine I could do this again after the Albanese led government. Time for a new government that delivers in the best interest of the community.

🚨 BREAKING: The Senate has backed a Greens motion demanding that Labor abolish its Integrated Assessment Tool. This is another embarrassing parliamentary defeat for Labor’s unravelling aged care reforms. They need to go back to the drawing board. Lives are at stake here.
