Killer Dinner so good, I told a few friends to create profiles on my account so they could watch and catch up because WE NEED TO TALK

Well actually I know at least one non-profit that needs to hear this. But it was a really fun call to get after never cancelling the few monthly donations I make to non-profits even when cutting other monthly expenses to save money, just to be told I specifically am still not doing enough 🫠🫩

VanessaBanessa (she/her) @vparker1990.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Idk what non-profit needs to hear this, but don’t call people after they update their payment method for monthly donations solely to tell them that while you appreciate the donation, it actually doesn’t go very far and they can actually be doing more than they already have been (for almost 10 yrs).

Wait I’ve been out of the loop, I thought a December release was looking good??! February would be ok, but I selfishly want Dec (or Jan, meh) because I feel like that’ll give it its time to shine before season 2 of HR comes out in April! February feels like I’ll blink and everyone will move on to HR

Was at Panera today for monthly book club, walked out and learned a worker had been shot in the restaurant right next to us 15 ft away 3 minutes earlier (1st responders hadn’t arrived on scene yet). Witnesses said shooter looked like a kid who immediately ran off. Just heartbreaking (and scary).

I guess the only kinda maybe positive outlook is the U.S. president flip flops so frequently, things might swing back in our favorite by Oct/Nov when they’re due to ship out 😭🫩

Watching my pre-ordered Heated Rivalry team Canada fleece jacket drift further and further away (idk if this will specifically affect their delivery once they’re finally produced and ready to ship, but this vibe in general is just bleak).

Thank you! Honestly I'm really happy because very little actually changes with my workload and job duties, just my pay rate and job title since I'm now certified in my field!

VanessaBanessa (she/her) @vparker1990.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

Thank you! on one hand it almost felt "petty" cuz ok, 1-2000 seems miniscule after a big jump in pay anyway, but also my friend stressed making sure I was given a competitive rate and lowkey, I wanted to make sure I was at least getting paid the same or more to a couple of my male counterparts lol 👀

My company offered me a promotion and starting salary, I countered with $1-2,000 more, and they offered me $1,500 more to their original offer. I accepted lol. This was so stressful; 1st time I’ve ever had to determine my own starting salary lol (I ended on the higher end of where they start people)

I mainly work off-site so I don’t make it on the employee shout out board too often…worked from the clinic today and spotted this while waiting for my lunch to heat up. HR really finds me everywhere 😭 (and my coworker was so funny she went “I was wondering when you’d catch that stray compliment!”)🥲

A written compliment that says “shout out for being the bestest bud and understanding my pain </3 HR4ever”

Obsession is a grim, nasty little movie. Also grimly funny. Seriously, my theater was packed, and it was nervous laughter the whole run-time. Absolutely horrible time all around. 10/10, can only recommend to sickos.

So .. I'm not sure a movie has ever filled me with so much anxiety in a movie theater than "Obsession." Lol. Not a perfect movie, but a deeply unpleasant one. Not meant as a criticism. But...it's a dark one.

Genuinely funny that Alito just wrote a whole opinion making clear that the only thing Republicans have to do to gerrymander Black people out of electoral existence is say "this is about politics, not race," and then this genius is like CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW MANY BLACK PEOPLE ARE IN THAT DISTRICT??

VanessaBanessa (she/her) @vparker1990.bsky.social · 12/05/2026

When the Supreme Court Majority eviscerated the Voting Rights Act but the only aspect they kept was that explicit racial intent could still not be used to gerrymander districts and everyone thought "this will be hard to prove because no one is going to explicitly state race as a political factor"...
