i think the fixation on "fixing" stories over all other types of artistic exp is an ultimately antisocial one, bc it doesn't involve seeing art as a type of intentional communication between yourself and the person who made it. the age of corporate slop doesn't help but some art IS saying something

there was a quiet compromise reached between corporations and the mass market where it was fine to devalue, censor and generally pummel and harass creative into submission if they never had to feel sad, confused or angry about something in a movie or game or show

so now im at, in the same year: my dad died (leaving an absolute mess of his estate), my mom is currently in the hospital for a life-threatening injury, i developed a serious disability, and my car got totaled as a cherry on top. i should get an award for trauma at this point
