it is literally true. you could not have a black player character until Sun/Moon (gen 7) and the first black NPC was lenora in gen 5 who was just a mammy caricature and was literally censored in the west for that precise reason.

same. one server i got authority and the first thing i did was pressure them into electing transfem mod staff. within a year the server politics shifted dramatically and so many eggs cracked it's like an incubator in there now. going down in history as one of my fav impacts on any space.

fair. my personal server doesn't really need moderation at all regardless, and i'm sure other small scale spaces work just the same. most of the servers i mod are a minimum 100 users, some well into the 2000+ range, and that's when you really gotta get ass about stuff

that aside though i've also had some servers that did allow it end up banning it bc the entire server feed became one person role playing with themselves for 500 messages a day. so it's a forever no from me.

yeah part of the problem is webhook bots were never intended to be used that way and as a result can't really be moderated well even if the dev gave a shit, or at least that's my understanding. even blocking the bot itself doesn't prevent the proxy messages from showing up.
