Once again, for the politicians, business leaders, and journalists still actively posting on X/Twitter: why? You're using a platform that's owned by someone who's trying to break up your country. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.

Fallen is awesome but the possession problem was the entire film whereas the ending of that movie happens halfway through Spider-Man with the helicopter because it's not actually the real problem to be solved.

I brought up ROI because you said it sucks as an R&D division. So while it wouldn't be as cheap as producing no new comics it works well enough as an R&D division because they clearly are using new characters and stories that it cooks up.

There are definitely new characters and storylines that get used in other adaptations but I don't think there's any ROI argument that it's better than just having writers for games / movies / TV make up new stuff themselves.

There's often a parking enforcement cop going down Adelaide during rush hour and it's still not enough. Ironically, the number of P.E. cops needed to prevent it entirely would be enough to add a noticeable amount of congestion by themselves.

It took until 1962 for the City of Ottawa to allow all renters to vote in municipal elections. Before that, those living with roommates or in boarding houses couldn't vote. This changed after a referendum (passed 49,776 to 20,262—though renters barred from voting at the time couldn't participate).

Put another way, Ford wants to spend more on removing bike lanes in Toronto ($48M) than he's spent protecting all of Ontario's businesses from an international trade war. Ontario deserves serious leadership, that follows through on promises, and actually puts people before profits.

Speaking to 5), part of the reason I bounced off Elden Ring (and Armored Core come to think of it) was fighting bosses get close or move past me and I felt like a fighter jet pilot who whips their head all around trying to find their opponent in the sky.

Really useful chart from @graphicmatt.com newsletter about where Mayor Chow's administration has spent more money beyond inflation and population growth, and for what. Good basis on which to choose whether one supports her priorities. Note here were also spending reductions elsewhere.

He would like Spider-Man more the more he learned about him. They share similar morals, a similar committment, he started out young and by himself, and he's damn smart. Sure he jokes but it's not like he doesn't get the job done.

Was just saying this earlier. Most of what you'd want to say or accomplish with the Clone Saga is better told through Kraven's Last Hunt, Superior Spider-Man, or introducing Miles.

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a woman pushing a shopping cart into a grocery store. In the baby seat of the shopping cart is an unusual orange creature with a trunk and antennae. The security guard standing in the doorway says, “ma’am, you can’t bring that in here.” Panel 2: the woman turns around and gestures at the creature. She says, “come on… he’s not hurting anyone.” Panel 3: the security guard points matter-of-factly at a sign on the wall behind him. The sign reads in bold red letters, “NO SHNOOBS. NO EXCEPTIONS.” It features a picture of an identical orange creature, the humble shnoob.

On one hand a person might be like "boo, why do we need visual stereotypes" but then when you know they weren't ever allowed to *say* someone was gay until shockingly recently, well, how else can they try to do any representation?

Over the weekend, the Bradford campaign challenged the media to do this "scavenger hunt" to uncover supposed places where Olivia Chow frittered away the provincial New Deal money. Challenge accepted. From my newsletter this week, here’s what I found.
An infographic for a City Hall scavenger hunt titled 'Where did the Money Go?' showing eight locations throughout Toronto where city budget expenditures are hidden, with clues and dollar amounts for each stop, ending at the Mayor's Office, and promoting Brad Bradford's mayoral campaign.

It's Spider-Man and a bunch of other popular characters, all of them popular or well-oiled actors, in a good story with surprises, plenty of heart/emotion, and humour, and great action with great (MCU) cinematography. Ppl are going multiple times and in pricier formats like IMAX and 3D and D-Box.
