What about high volume tasks? Still would go with Chinese flash models or GPT Luna vs Opus 5.5 But overall, I might come back to Claude Code (currently OpenCode) just to fully utilize a 20$ plan with new models.

Very informative. Shared with people! I wonder if this explanation can be converted to a skill so System 2 models can decide when to use a faster intelligence and how to structure queries. However it seems the most interesting use case are deliberate use of System 1 in software.

Opus 5.5 is good but I might need a new budget category for AI tokens now. I am way below what you might expect (<50$ per month) so likely need to drop scarcity mindset a bit. But if it becomes a consistent 100$ a month it still way above my other subs. P.S. I pay direct API costs.

The reason I am attempting to build an agent platform (aka Claude Work) just for my family. Better data control, can use any provider. Have MVP but not usable for real work yet. However, those news reassure me the direction is right and I just need to invest efforts.

Good question. But also by “arrived” it could mean “students who received a study permit”. The process takes months before you actually arrive to Canada, and you need to be registered with school to get permit in a first place. So maybe just 28k permits were issued as of July.

CBC headline is a bit ridiculous and portrays like their building is getting demolished. A rich couple, that doesn’t own lot nearby, is against owner of said lot to build a 4 story building (15m new building vs couple’s 11m); and as you said refused to be accommodated on chimney AND window.

Another interesting point is family and community software. Not particularly a novel take but with agents there is a future where people build their own apps, and have more control over it and their data. In my case, it is work on an agent platform for my family.

Very insightful. One part that stood out so far is how current AI workflows are focused on individual performance whereas work is most always done in teams. Maybe that’s is why despite such a high adoption of AI in companies and individual productivity way up, companies do not move as fast.

cold latency is less of an issue for me. I do plan to copy what Ramp does and spin up a sandbox while user types a prompt so cold latency is not that noticeable. Any experience with DO to DO web sockets / streaming? This is the area that confuses me a bit, especially on pricing.

Overall, nothing groundbreaking, but happy with the progress. Def would never attempted to build an agent platform just for my family if not for affordable LLMs. Have a lot of ideas but for this week wanna finish MVP and make sure the ground is solid. Feedback and feature ideas are appreciated

Sandbox has no knowledge about its API keys. E.g. the provider key gets injected by a proxy (Cloudflare has cool tech). Sandbox runs a bridge code that sends Pi RPC JSONL events to DO. Then via websockets messages are distributed to web clients.

Initially, sandbox had OpenCode but I realized it was quite heavy, so switched to Pi. Besides small footprint, Pi's source code is small enough that I can quickly get an answer about how internals work. The chat history is preserved in DO so no need to start sandbox just to view messages.

Cloudflare made this project much easier: Workers, Durable Objects, Sandbox, Access for auth. I am still sensitive on token price for personal use so everything is build with GLM-5.3 (plan) and DeepSeek 4.1 (implement).

Inspired by Ramp Inspect, I decided to build a sandbox agent platform that me and my gf can use. The long-term goal: have our own AI harness, independent of big players; control more of our data and learn how to build AI systems. This is a very early demo. Technical details below.

This is a screenshot of a chat interface called "Roost" (labeled "Sandbox agents"), showing a "demo" session with status "ready." The top bar has buttons: Start, Stop, Health, Messages, Debug, Events (124), and Clear.

The visible conversation is a playful running bit about a fictional character "buba," described as a duck ("quack") that starts with 2 pints. The assistant notes it saved rules about this to a memory file (.memory/buba.md), then the user says "what was the last message about?" and "oh no. buba just got three pints." The assistant responds with mock alarm, logs an "incident" showing before (2 pints) and now (3 pints, flagged as one too many), lists a "mission" to stop buba from getting a 4th pint, and asks whether to pursue a "pint-retrieval op" or hold the line at 3, with beer and duck emoji.

Two collapsed "write" tool-call buttons (with green checkmarks) appear where the assistant saved notes to memory.
