Opus 5.5 is good but I might need a new budget category for AI tokens now. I am way below what you might expect (<50$ per month) so likely need to drop scarcity mindset a bit. But if it becomes a consistent 100$ a month it still way above my other subs. P.S. I pay direct API costs.

Inspired by Ramp Inspect, I decided to build a sandbox agent platform that me and my gf can use. The long-term goal: have our own AI harness, independent of big players; control more of our data and learn how to build AI systems. This is a very early demo. Technical details below.
This is a screenshot of a chat interface called "Roost" (labeled "Sandbox agents"), showing a "demo" session with status "ready." The top bar has buttons: Start, Stop, Health, Messages, Debug, Events (124), and Clear.

The visible conversation is a playful running bit about a fictional character "buba," described as a duck ("quack") that starts with 2 pints. The assistant notes it saved rules about this to a memory file (.memory/buba.md), then the user says "what was the last message about?" and "oh no. buba just got three pints." The assistant responds with mock alarm, logs an "incident" showing before (2 pints) and now (3 pints, flagged as one too many), lists a "mission" to stop buba from getting a 4th pint, and asks whether to pursue a "pint-retrieval op" or hold the line at 3, with beer and duck emoji.

Two collapsed "write" tool-call buttons (with green checkmarks) appear where the assistant saved notes to memory.

Bottom left: red and blue figures facing each other, red says 'Can't control what I can't understand,' labeled 'U.S.' Bottom right: red and blue figures now shaking hands, both angry-faced and turned outward, blue says 'Oui!' with caption 'To be continued' above them.

Really cool website but my battery level was way off. Other metrics were spot on.
How much is left
Battery: 100% · charging
Your device reports 100%, charging — which is also what no-battery-at-all looks like to a webpage. We cannot tell whether you are a laptop on full charge or a desktop without a battery, and neither can any other site. The two are indistinguishable from this side. In 2015, researchers demonstrated that battery level — combined with discharge time — was unique enough to track users across websites for up to thirty minutes. Your exact percentage, right now, is a fingerprint. Firefox removed this API in 2016. Your browser still exposes it.

Just did. Thank you for sharing this option. I was thinking it is only possible to speak in-person or online.
I support pedestrianizing Church Street. The sidewalks are regularly overcrowded - far more people are walking than driving, and pedestrians need more space. Businesses will benefit from increased foot traffic, and it's a great opportunity to showcase Toronto to FIFA visitors who will likely expect pedestrian-friendly streets, as they're common across e.g. Europe.

Ultimately, this is just a two-month pilot program. Rather than debating and overthinking, let's simply do it - the findings can inform future decisions.

"Driving is a privilege - not a right" is an official stance of Government of Ontario (sometimes we can agree with the gov, eh?). If you disagree, you shouldn't be allowed to drive. You are a danger on the road.

TO folks it is time to spread the plan. Liking on BlueSky is great but it is not enough. Fast Track TO did a hard work of compiling the plan. As a bare minimum, we residents, can send an email to our Councillor - www.toronto.ca/city-governm... If you want something, you should ask for it.
The screenshot of an email to Ward 11 Councillor of Toronto.

The email content:
"""
Dear Councillor Dianne Saxe,

As a Ward 11 resident and daily TTC user, I'd like to bring your attention to a recently published 10-point transit improvement plan by local transportation advocates and professionals: https://fast-track.to/
Toronto's streetcar network is widely recognized as one of the slowest urban transit systems in the world, and it's time to change that. The plan, when implemented fully, estimates cutting streetcar travel times by 40%, reducing bunching and short turns, and saving Torontonians an estimated 20,000 hours per day - roughly $2 billion in value over the first ten years. Faster, more reliable service also means more foot traffic to local businesses along transit corridors - a direct benefit to Ward 11 merchants and the broader tax base.

I'd encourage you to review the plan and consider supporting its implementation.

Thank you for your time.

The statement gives me a nice opportunity for a follow up to my follow-up (that I never got reply for, for a month now). Does vague "other major platforms" also includes X? Likely not, cause the guy doesn't care. But let's see.
A new email to Solomon that reads:

Good morning Minister Solomon,

I am a resident of Toronto. I did not receive a reply to my follow-up email from a month ago regarding Grok/X and the CSAM it produces, so I am writing again.

In light of the Tumbler Ridge tragedy and your recent statement, I would like to know whether

"In the coming weeks I will also meet with other major platforms operating in Canada to ensure there is a consistent and clear approach to escalation, local coordination, and youth protection"

means you will also meet with Grok/X and hold them accountable for creating and distributing CSAM?

Thank you for your time.

Ontario: make domestic students pay less -> intl students pay majority -> don't expand housing / services because NIMBY and speculations -> people are struggling economically, mad at immigrants -> cut immigration -> colleges have no money -> make domestic students pay more -> win?
The Peak newsletter screenshot: Ontario ends its longstanding postsecondary tuition freeze. In response to declining international student enrolment, a seven-year-long freeze on university and college tuition fees for domestic students is being lifted. The province also committed $6.4 billion in additional funding for postsecondary institutions over the next four years.

Part 2 of the reply re addressing CSAM and non consensual porn generation on X.
In addition, the government is working on new online harms legislation focused on improving platform safety and accountability, as well as updated data and privacy protections that would give Canadians more control over how their personal data is used in the digital environment.

Technology companies and AI developers must take responsibility for the tools they create and ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to prevent harm. Our focus remains on protecting Canadians, enforcing the law, and ensuring digital technologies are used in a way that is safe and responsible.

Thank you again for taking the time to write. Your concerns are important, and we remain committed to addressing online harms while supporting innovation that serves the public good.

Sincerely,
Office of Evan Solomon

Sent an email yesterday. Used your template with some changes, but the message is pretty much same. Got standard reply today, no timelines, no concrete actions. Part 1 of reply (screenshot plus alt text).
Thank you for reaching out to share your concerns regarding recent reports of deepfake images generated by the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok on the social media platform X.

I want to be clear: deepfake sexual abuse is violence. Canadians should be able to participate online without fear that their image will be misused or manipulated without consent, particularly women and young people. Platforms and AI developers have a responsibility to take reasonable steps to prevent this kind of harm.

Our government is continuing to advance the responsible development and use of artificial intelligence in Canada. A key part of this work is Bill C-16, which would amend the Criminal Code to clarify that non-consensual deepfake intimate images are treated as intimate images for the purposes of the offence of publication without consent. This legislation would strengthen protections for victims and help ensure that those who misuse these technologies are held accountable.
