Some #glitchart flowers from last year. Original image from a trip to the local botanical garden.
Shallow depth of field image of red and white flowers surrounded by leaves on a bush. The colors are spread and rotated by an algorithm based on the original pixel color so the vague shape of flowers and leaves are still there, but the white flowers are now a colorful almost neon abstract rainbow, the red flowers were mostly fuzzy in the original image and are still fuzzy and mostly still red, and the leaves have an almost oil slick appearance with vague edges. Describing glitch art for alt text is difficult sorry.A cropped version of the original image. Shallow depth of field image of bunches of white flowers surrounded by leaves with red flowers out of focus in the foreground to the bottom left and top right. Rhododendrons I believe.

If I HAD to? How famous do they have to be? I'm trying to choose a nature photographer. Patient, used to traveling, more likely to find things outside of the car interesting, and I could learn a lot.

The "random strings" might be some kind of encoding Chinese into "Western web" friendly Latin characters. I would expect to see some numbers in there if that was the case but I'm not an expert in the field and I could just be wrong about that.

From the store tab, there's a dropdown under "your store" with a "preferences" option. In the store preferences tab on the left, the "mature content filtering" option has 5 levels of settings that you can pick from. I've only got the top 3 checked and don't have this problem anymore.

My phone logged me out over a month ago and I just couldn't be bothered to log back in. Guess that goes to show how much I like interacting with social media.

Ah that explains the way the columns and rows overlap and it's a lot faster algorithm than sorting lines by brightness first. Hah

Are they drawn in order of brightness? That's a neat effect.

just a quick lil glitch i made after our trip to Deacanso today. they have installations themed around “shade” all over the grounds. i especially loved these umbrellas! #glitchart
a glitched snaking row of multicolored umbrellas with glitched sunlight coming down at a slanted angle, giving the ambiguous impression that these could be floating in the air or atop a body of water

Planning to allow any control to be linked to audio, as well as FFT so it's not just raw volume and you can link different effects to say treble, mid, bass or some other quality of the audio. Current result is just the laziest "how feasible is this?" code.

Fun fact when I initially started working on this project my first concept was a music visualizer. Now 10+ years later I'm finally working on the audio reactivity part. Audio here from the Risk of Rain 2 soundtrack by Chris Christodoulou. Some flashing lights warning. #glitchart

You really have to make sure you know where you're going first when it will take so long to get there.

This is one where knowing the sound it makes is really helpful. They make a pretty loud and unique noise while flying so you can know to be on the lookout.

THE SUN STRIKES - humans remember birth and death Series: DREAM WORLD (9/10) In fiery descent, sun kisses earth—birth and endings blur within the glow. #photography #contemporaryphotography #icm #abstract #motionblur #sunset
Abstract digital art photograph depicting a bright, dramatically vertical line of intense, white-hot light against a soft gradient backdrop of purples, pinks, and oranges. The central luminous streak widens near its base, touching a glowing horizon. Colors fade gently outward, creating the appearance of extreme motion blur, evoking a dreamy, surreal atmosphere.

I don't really have a lot of experience. I started out with java (Processing) because of a college class and then wanted to be able to make it into a web app so I could just share a link instead of making people download something, and conveniently had p5js as the javascipt version of processing.

Having rewritten a java app in javascript just for the portability / shareability of it, javascript is janky all on it's own. Probably worth it but the image processing bits that I couldn't rewrite as webgl shaders run a lot slower.

Work was exhausting this week and I didn't want to go outside today so I did more work on my app instead. Tweaking shaders, adding more options. #glitchart
A version of the quoted photo run through a glitch filter.
The mountain is still recognizable from the shape of it, but it's made up of streaky horizontal lines of varying colors now.

Ah. It was because of pixel density. A pixel isn't just a pixel on some devices. Do I need to make a mobile UI now? I really don't like coding UI.

Split "cubic" controls into x and y axis so they can be controlled separately.
The flowers have been sliced vertically and groups of pixels are moved left and right.

I added a .webp compression option to the data corruption mode. #glitchart
The top bit of flowers is still recognizable, but everthing else is a mess of rectangles in various colors.

Added drag and drop file handling. Loading new images is much faster. Optimizations. (I was accidentally running the shaders twice every frame before) Added new controls to refraction modes and adjusted scale functions. Added an option to scale the main image to the map image. Changed default image.

I guess I'm collecting photos of other birds attacking bald eagles now. Here's an osprey I saw yesterday. #photography #birds
An osprey dives at a bald eagle perched at the top of a fir tree. The osprey has its talons reaching out in front, and the eagle has its wings spread and beak open.

I can barely tell anything beyond the shape and color here. Would you say it looked more like an insect eating beak than a seed eater? Any size estimate?
a blown up, very low fidelity image of the section of the above image with the bird in it.

Sometimes something happens and you just have to hope your camera settings are good enough where they're already at. I had so little time to react to this, and the light and background changed as they flew across the lake. Crazy way to see a peregrine falcon for the first time. #photography #birds

A touch of color at sunrise on a morning I wasn't already at work by this time of day. #photography #landscape
A lake view just before sunrise. The foreground is dark with grasses, irises, and a lake with lots of water plants in the foreground, a tree lined skyline, and wispy clouds with a touch of red from the sunrise.

Do you mean if you type google.ca in the address bar it goes to .com instead? I couldn't replicate that in Firefox. I run a lot of extensions though so if my Firefox doesn't work like usual I'm not surprised.

Run into this kind of people all the time. Oh you care so much about what ingredients are in your package of food? Why do you think companies even have to tell you? It's regulation.

There's some very low tides in the Salish Sea this week. Here's a gull doing some fishing in a tide pool. This move they do really amuses me. #birds #pnw

Its wings are spread, head and body are tilted down, and its feet are fully out of the water. The gull with its head in the water.
