My gp is amazing. I had blood tests recently. Another doctor called, not my usual. He said i'm mildly anaemic - my choice if I get supplements. Asked if my diet changed, I said we are temporarily reliant on foodbanks. "Ok. Just eat more veg and red meat." I didn't bother saying anything (1/4)

I have had to claim UC again recently during a period of ill health. They've been monstrous to deal with. It has felt they have actively done anything they can to make applying as difficult as possible. Assuming I survive, I have a fire in belly and a lot of receipts. Fuck that system.

My step-father's gambling addiction also destroyed us. He became violent towards my mum whenever he lost money (every other day.) They don't care about that side of stuff, of course. They just silence the victims so they can carry on profiting from our misery.

Food shopping on a very tight budget... Spar has a frozen meal deal. It would feed me, partner & 2yo today, & 2yo tomorrow. 5 items for £6... 1 of the 5 items, Spar fish fingers, was out of stock... So they wouldn't let me have the deal 😤I had to spend £19 when I should have spent £12!

Intelligent, purposeful, temporary avoidance can absolutely be a trauma recovery tool-- as long as we don't confuse it w/ reflexive, mindless, symptomatic avoidance. In any realistic recovery arc, there are times for confrontation AND avoidance. Neither should be our default.
