For me it's the microphone. I can hear others just fine, but I sound incredibly muffled to whoever's on the other end unless I use a headset.

I've been trying to articulate this in a way which doesn't sound judgmental, and apparently that sounds like a fortune cookie. But seriously, a question I ask a lot is "If I get used to this new system, what problems am I signing up for when I'm inevitably rug pulled?" and it's served me quite well

And if you say you'll do X but then do not schedule it, you need to look at why you're not following through and admit it is at best misleading behavior. It's not okay to continually offload the emotional responsibility of remembering onto the other person and expect them to find that acceptable.

If you care about someone, you own the burden of showing them you care. It should not be on them to remind you to demonstrate it. If you require reminders to demonstrate care, or to do what you said you would do, it's on you to set them. Calendar alerts are easy and take 2 seconds to set up.

Random unpredictable donations do not have the same stabilizing effect as an ongoing institution that provides reliable, predictable resources does. If anything, putting us poors on a variable reward schedule (random donations) trains us to suck up to billionaires in hope we'll happen to get lucky.

I mean... That's nice and all, but occasionally deigning to improve the lives of hand-selected unlucky folks is not the same thing as establishing an ongoing college scholarship fund and a massive free-books-for-kids program. Individual donations are pocket change if you have access to billions.

Your preferences and opinions are not universal. Acting like they are makes it look like you have an insufficiently developed theory of mind. And you don't need to think cab companies are heroes to see the value in a unionized workplace, human interactions, and still being able to pay with cash.

Huh. Most of the dancing swords I've met are balanced in such a way that holding them in the places they'd be dangerous if they were sharp makes no physical sense, so I'm kinda surprised this even needs to be said.

The princess took an earring off and held it out. The raven looked at it. "Whatever for?" "You are wise and clever. Many princesses have dragons, but none has a raven friend." The raven picked up the earring. "Say no more." "Friends?" she asked when it returned the next day. "Forevermore."

@rejectednytwords.bsky.social Knapped. Has nobody at the NYT ever read about making weapons out of stone and/or obsidian?
A NYT Spelling Bee screenshot. The center letter is P, and the outer letters are K A C E D N. The player has tried to enter the word "knapped," which is the past tense of "knap." Knap and knapped are both real words, but the NYT screenshot shows that Spelling Bee thinks it is not a word.

Replying twice (& being a dick both times) is a funny way of not engaging, and hypocrisy is a bigger red flag to me. I don't give a rat's furry ass how many followers I have. Quality > quantity, for one. For two, I have zero aspirations to be an influencer. My account is for shouting into the void.

Get fucked. If men won't listen to social pressure from other men, whose opinions actually matter to them, why on earth would you expect them to listen to women they want to assault, even if they are threatened with cutlery?
010
Vinegrr @vinegrr.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
This is basically the sexual assault equivalent of the children having lemonade stands to pay for their parents cancer treatment. If you think those stories are appalling instead of inspirational, you should find this one the same way.

We don't need more women heroes like that French lady. We need fewer men who grow up to be shits, and more men who tell them to stop being shitty when it happens anyway.

Vinegrr @vinegrr.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
I'm so fucking ashamed of all the women applauding this clueless dude for sharing this story. It's not women's job to make men stop being shitty. Men need to grow up not feeling entitled to shitty behavior in the first place.

🖕🖕🖕 It's not women's job to make men stop being shitty. Men need to grow up not feeling entitled to shitty behavior in the first place. How about instead of sharing a story telling women they need to threaten to stab men who grope them, you tell men to stop fucking groping their co-workers.

Dream bigger. Swifties should pressure Tay-tay to use her massive piles of money the way Dolly did. I suspect she'd throw a fit and expose herself as the selfish white girl the rest of us already know she is. (But also, yeah, therapy might help her need less validation, and therefore less money.)

Sounds like the kind of story that gets passed around regardless of veracity just because it sounds good, so I'd need a citation before giving that tale much credence. However, I don't care all that much, so no need to trouble yourself unless you're personally curious about it.

Why is anyone putting these in drawers, though? They belong stuck in a jar on the counter with all the other utensils you use semiregularly for cooking. Your choice of decorative or pickle jar. If you have extra, they go in the BIG drawer/box of extra cooking stuff, where they can't cause trouble.

People who think leaving the planet at a moment of your choosing is selfish: How can you claim with a clear heart that opting out of this painful nonsense is any more selfish than expecting someone to tolerate a miserable-and-not-improving existence just so you won't have to miss them?
