#MartenMonth Help add pine martens to our map! Pine martens are elusive and difficult to survey — so sightings from citizen scientists are vital to fill the gaps. Send in your records to us: arcg.is/L1fG0 with photos, videos or a good description! Info — pinemartens.uk Photo ©Robert Cruickshanks

We're pleased to have worked with @biaza.bsky.social and other organisations to create a poster on responsible wildlife translocations. Using acronym PINE MARTEN, it highlights the right support and advice when translocating species so they not only survive but thrive. biaza.org.uk/downloader/3...

Pine martens are expert communicators. They leave scent marks, scats and urine on logs, rocks, trees and on woodland trails to share information about territory, breeding status and identity. We’re celebrating #MartenMonth! Let us know if you've seen a pine marten this year: arcg.is/L1fG0

VWT had a fab weekend at #NatBatConf, sharing knowledge through a presentation on its @Natur Am Byth! Barbastelle Bat Project and two workshops. The horseshoe bat conservation workshops identified habitat challenges and how we use adaptive conservation management to create a more resilient future.

Pine martens are expert climbers, with sharp claws, rotating ankles and a long tail for balance, they can navigate our woodlands with ease. Climbing is an important skill for finding food, shelter and escaping predators - but it takes some practice! #MartenMonth Report sightings:  arcg.is/L1fG0

Exciting news… the first greater horseshoe bat pup of the season was born at the start of June at our bat reserve in Sussex — and will be flying by July. Although births are getting earlier as the climate changes, it's brilliant to see this small edge-of-range colony thriving in our southeast roost.
