Today my dysphoria is very bad *and* it's my birth month, so I'm feeling extra depressed, li'l scared, frantic about aging, and settling into general despair about existing in this misshapen shell. You know! As you do. Boosts are much appreciated. 🖤✨️

It’s the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation here in Canada. The problem is, we’re still not discussing the full truth. On how we’ve historically treated the Nations whose land we reside on, nor how we treat them now. We cannot reconcile with actions we refuse to admit to.

It's my birthdaaaaay!🎊 As an artist, it's often difficult to acknowledge how much I work and how much I improve, so today I want to be nicer to myself and share some of my favourite pieces I made since my last bday.💙 If you'd like to share, it would be a lovely gift!🙏✨

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

The rare times when I play a video game it's to experience the story or just chill and relax so I invariably play on the easiest level allowed. I don't play for added stress and frustration. Some people play for the challenge. If that's your thing, awesome. Lots of ways to have fun. No right way.

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”

APStylebook @APStylebook

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

No art made with love, conviction, and genuine effort is bad art. It might not live up to the expectations you set for yourself (it rarely does, even for those of us who do it for a living), but it's real and it's yours, that makes it beautiful.

The photos you were shown in school of Nazi book burnings are from the raid on the Institute for Sexual Science. They were burning us, our history, our belonging in this world. It is still burning. You either choose to help put out the fire or accept it.

Political consultant: Imagine a job where you can get absolutely everything wrong and never get your clients any positive results and yet continue to get hired. DNC keeps making the same mistakes on repeat. It stops looking like incompetence and starts looking like deliberately throwing the match.

Some things are classic for a reason, but just because something has survived, doesn't mean it's good or correct. Nostalgia might be comforting, but it's also a trap and a cage. What spoke to you as a youth might have been truly great or you might have just been a kid. Discernment is hard.

You know, when you find out that the art you like is made by people you've learned hold views you find wholly repugnant, I don't think you need to disavow ever having enjoyed the art. It's okay to acknowledge you liked or loved that art, but are now putting it aside. That was then, this is now.

Happy 72nd Birthday to Ruby Bridges, who at the age of 6 desegregated the New Orleans public schools. She’s younger than 30 senators and our last two presidents—and only 7 years older than Barack Obama. The past isn’t past.

The last 4 characters saved in your gallery or whatever are your dnd party! This is going to be some chaos.

Lorraine Broughton from Atomic Blonde played by Charlize Theron. She's leaning against the Berlin Wall in a long black coat over a short back dress and black thigh high boots. She's holding a pistol in one hand. She's wearing dark wayfarer style sunglasses and a platinum blonde bob haircut.

Chandra Nalaar from Magic the Gathering. A woman wearing armour and goggles with fire for hair and massive flame shooting from her hands.

Dutch from Killjoys played by Hannah John-Kamen. She has long wavy brown hair, wearing a black and purple leather bodysuit and gloves and carrying a futuristic looking assault rifle.

Asked why the WNBA continues to experience these heightened distractions, Cloud said, "Men."
"The men now that are like 'Oh, we need to protect the WNBA,’ y'all were the same ones saying we shouldn't be paid," Cloud continued. "Y'all were the same ones saying we shouldn't have been invested in, saying we're a joke, the same ones that don't respect Black women. So, if you're going to protect women, that means all women. That includes Black women, trans women and the list goes on."
