Kill.Switch was the game that basically invented the third person cover shooter as we know it, inspiring the likes of Uncharted and Gears of War, defining the genre even today. It's also old enough to have gotten a weird 3D GBA port, which is what we're looking at today! youtu.be/gwRXgsEr200

Alongside expressing my own appreciation for PSIV's comic book panels, I'll give the Retranslation + Relocalization romhack a fresh signal boost and recommendation. It turns an already solid localization into an even better one with lots of cut dialogue restored. www.romhacking.net/hacks/4171/

Restore censored content (A couple monsters re-added)
Item descriptions for late-game gear that had none
Minor endgame character / item rebalancing
More accurate translation of proper nouns/items/monsters/etc.
Made some vague PS-series lore connections more obvious
Translated “comedic” character’s mis- and untranslated jokes
Include lory1990 bugfixes

I would argue that Seal Away is a perfect example of a thematic card that is future-proofed enough to be re-usable in various settings, with art and flavour text adjustments that would effectively reposition what the card evokes. We don't need functional reprints with names like "haha villain trap"

I am away from my game collection, but I’ve been thinking about this Atari 2600 game Bank Heist for #RandomGameSaturday. Rob banks to increase gas for the next round, use dynamite to blow up chasing cop cars, milk the level for points before leaving for the next town. Great stuff. Love the cover too

In (mostly) forgotten handhelds that once sounded like they'd be the hot new thing: the Tapwave Zodiac. (2003) You'll see excitement flare up for a bit in tech and game mags in 2002-2003 over this quite beefy little handheld (200mhz ARM9 and 32/128MB RAM).

An ad for the zodiac, a squashy looking contoured oval handheld with silver and grey styling and an wide-screen display. From conception to reality, the tagline says, with a motif of sperm fertilising an egg. The zodiac is the egg and little earbud headphones with long thin cables are wiggling toward it from all directions.
