I am catastrophically depressed over how my ex treated me. It's not the first time it has happened. It falls in line with this thing where my autonomy and personhood are not real to people. And I was the dominant one and penetrator, which meant I was the one capable of violence, not them.

My recent experiences make me feel that other trans people see me as an amoral rapist and pleasure-seeker because of how I treat my body and autonomy. This overlaps with the image of transness that's currently being used to demonize us. I don't know how to fix that without compromising myself.

I don't like being in this place where talking about how I've been treated as an embodiment of rape culture is seen as obfusicating or enabling rapists, even as a survivor. I hate that someone offered me kindness last night, but I could only reluctantly accept it out of fear of assaulting them.

There's flaws in the analysis, though. while it makes space for Palestinean self-advocacy and queerness, there's a criticism of statehood that veers into idealism. But it's rounded out by the harsh details settlerism and trying to create community under anti-queer persecution. A good essay overall!
