Sammy Rae & The Friends. Jazzy and energetic. Did a great cover of "Lovin' You".

I'm responding to commentary like this about Mamdani's universal education plan, like this is bizarre to me. I was read to and went through socializing with other kids when I was a toddler, how is this tyranny?

A quote post of Mayor Mamdani's Universal 2-K announcement with the reply, "We used to have seven years before being incarcerated in schools to be disciplined & trained to follow orders of future employers.
Now they are putting kids to work at TWO?
And bragging about it?"

I'll do the movies thing. Elephant is a borderline case for me because I watched it during adolescence, not childhood, but it's a critical piece that would get me into arthouse/indie movies earnestly later on.

My 9 movies: James the Giant Peach, Blade, Scream, The Matrix, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Elephant, Edward Scissorhands, and Star Wars

To clarify, when I said "shameless joy", I meant the very first post in this thread where a South Asian lesbian said it is better to own your sexuality than worry about being immoral. You've been arguing against them and multiple trans women, people who are targets of misogynist violence, for days.

"if i [lesbian] like female characters Too much or talk or make stuff about them Too much what if other people think i am a misogynist or a freak or no better than a straight man" let them

you have one life

Summer classes have started for me and financial aid will not be enough to cover tuition right as rent is due. So that's my situation. I need $600 for rent. If people can help, I would appreciate it.

More, in a screenshot with alt-text.

Also: As an American citizen, I do benefit from the imperial war machine. Because of what my father (a machinist) told me about what that entails, among many other things like the war on Iraq, I choose not to ever be in the military or defense work. That's not revolutionary, it's the bare fucking minimum if you're going to act like a paragon to a globalized audience of marginalized people. Mardoll wouldn't even do that.

I ignored this because it was Valentine's Day and I was with a girl, but LMAO.

Vicki writes, "Standpoint epistemology has its uses, but too much of what I call trans pessimism (a variation of trans nihilism except its adherents were kids when Cathy Brennan argued with people outside Michfest) is people packaging their insecurities and biases with 5 dollar words." Cathy Brennan replies six months later on Valentine's Day, "This never happened"

Cathy Brennan reposts on her page, "FTC to Host July 9 Workshop on Unfair or Deceptive Trade Practices in "Gender-Affirming Care" for Minors" with a link to the FTC website.
